Verge Ausberry deserves credit for hiring Wade and Kiffin. He gets credit for the hire.
His credit is not dependent on whether they are successful or not.
While that may not sound intuitive, that is the truth.

Everyone said that about Woodward after just making the hires. What are the odds that 3 dysfunctional coaches with personality disorders are able to lead each program to success while avoiding any major scandals? (Zero percent. The answer is zero.)

You’re omitting the fact that both of those coaches wanted to be here. They should have already been at LSU but Woodward didn’t want them.
