What was your favorite horror, Sci fi or fantasy movie when you were just a kid under 12?

My favorite was the original King Kong. I watch it on a black and white TV. It was shown on a program called "Million Dollar Movie" 3 times a day for a whole week and I watched it every time it aired. It drove my dad nuts but I watched it anyway.

Was, is, and always will be Star Wars.

I watched the Spock Trilogy (Star Trek 2-4) about 50 times as a kid. I don’t think I even considered it “sci-fi”. I just liked it.
For fantasy I would say the Conan movies. Clash of the Titans would be up there also.

Under age 12? Shoot, that puts it as stuff I watched before late 1976...
which really narrows it down... King Kong would be up there; I had a sleepover night at my childless aunt and uncle's house to watch that with them on the local "creature feature" when I was 7 years old. I loved it.
But in the end, I think I gotta go with the one I saw summer of '75 with my mom and stepfather at the downtown Joy (only place it was playing in town). The first-ever summer blockbuster that scared everyone...

Star Wars easily. I wasn’t really watching horror under 12 years old.

It was actually "King Kong" (1933) for me, too. There was just something so mesmerizing about that whole classic romantic-fantasy-adventure style which grabbed me quite thoroughly as a kid. Led me eventually to read old pulp magazine stories, and seek out similar stuff like "Island of Lost Souls" (1933) and "Tarzan and his Mate" (1934). I bought Fay Wray's autobiography, and always hoped to get her to sign it. Saw her at an event once, but didn't manage to meet her. But I did get to at least meet Maureen O'Sullivan, Gloria Stuart, Mae Clarke, and some others who toiled in vintage horror-fantasy fare of that period.
I remember when the 1976 "King Kong" remake came out. I was excited to see it. I even remember the 7-11 had 'King Kong' Icee cups, promoting it. But when I went to see it, it was like a dull, uninvolving thud. Didn't grab me in the least. In fact, I haven't even bothered to watch it since that one encounter.

Horror: Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Freddy was hilarious. Practical effects were awesome.
Sci fi: Back to the Future. Still one of my favorite movies of all time.
Fantasy: Beastmaster. Watched it on cable all the time.

The Goonies. Not horror, but it was plenty scary enough for an eight year old kid

King Kong and Seventh Voyage of Sinbad

Great choice. Excalibur and Star Trek (especially Wrath of Khan) were my favorites.

I watched Terminator 2, Alien and Aliens with my dad when I was 5. T2 is still my all time favorite movie and love the Alien franchise as well
Jurassic Park is also in the mix now that I think about it, he took me to see it 7 times in theaters (I think the last time the girl at the ticket desk lied to me and told me it wasn’t playing so I’d stop asking to go
