Yeah the French have gotten a bad wrap since WW2 (not without reason) but historically they are one of the most successful/victorious warring countries.

Do Carriers actually go in zigzag like that picture shows. Also if they do does all military ships go in the zigzag formation. I realize that’s not an American carrier but we would probably do the same thing

Plenty of runs on a cruise ship show similar paths.
