Most important bill in our lifetime.
Move heaven and earth to get if passed.

I will be absolutely shocked if this is some mechanism to pass this. There is no doubt in my mind Kennedy already knows this is some kind of dead end. The people controlling the GOP already know how this movie ends. They don't want the Save Act to pass. YOU as a GOP VOTER may want it to pass but they know how this bread gets buttered.

Let’s make it simple. Pass it or you’re all gone.

Reconciliation, as far as I understand, can only be used on budget items and must not increase the deficit. Parliamentarian would rule this doesn’t fall under reconciliation rules…..

Edit:
quote:
Budget reconciliation is a specialized Congressional process allowing for expedited passage of legislation affecting spending, revenue, and the federal debt limit, requiring only a simple majority in the Senate (51 votes) to avoid a filibuster. It is governed by strict rules, most notably the Byrd Rule, which prohibits extraneous, non-budgetary provisions
quote:
The Byrd Rule (Senate): Prohibits "extraneous" measures, which include provisions that do not change the budget, have only incidental effects, fall outside a committee's jurisdiction, or increase the deficit outside the budget window.

I suspect it's just a ploy, too. I don't trust Kennedy to really be with us. But, IF he pulls it off I'll gladly give him his props.

I don’t think will qualify for reconciliation unfortunately

It would be budget neutral to a cost savings

Honestly it kind of pisses me off that he thinks we're really that stupid. But hey man. They're the lawmakers. They get the big bucks. We're just the peons who keep putting the grifters on their thrones.

Please, I pray he can get this done because it will be the first thing he has ever done for us as a US Senator.
Oh, I forgot. He did make us laugh a few times.

The inflation reduction act passed the Senate 51-50 using reconciliation. There’s no way that didn’t add to the deficit or the budget.

The GOPe, for some reason, is against the SAVE Act.
I do not know why. The GOPe has never told us why.
