Despite Trump’s demands, no country has publicly committed to sending naval vessels to help protect shipping through the strait. Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told her Parliament she has not “made any decisions whatsoever about dispatching ?escort ships. We are continuing to examine...what can be done ?within the legal framework.” German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told reporters he did not see a role for the NATO in the matter. “I don't see that NATO has made any decision in this direction or could assume responsibility for the Strait of Hormuz.” In a press conference on Monday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his country will not be drawn into a “wider war” and any plan to reopen the strait must involve “as many partners as possible.” The U.K. leader also acknowledged that the process of reopening the narrow water way will be “difficult.” In it’s daily press conference, the Chinese foreign ministry dodged a question about Trump’s demand and his threat to delay his Beijing trip, saying: “Head-of-state diplomacy plays an indispensable role in providing strategic guidance to China-US relations. The two sides remain in communication regarding President Trump’s visit to China.”

It's amazing that all those European countries don't give a flying frick about what goes on in their neck of the woods.

Of course not. Why pay for the cow when you're already getting the milk for free?

A few of those countries have large muslim populations. I really believe POTUS Trump just want to test loyalty. The US military does not need any help keeping the Strait of Hormuz open if push comes to shove.

I agree with him.

Actually, I see no role for NATO. PERIOD. They’d likely just get in our way.

I'm really ready for the U.S. to get all of these mother frickers out from under the umbrella of safety we provide. Let Russia and China go in to those shite holes and do whatever the frick they want while we sit back on our coasts laughing our asses off.

20 oz. coke is 2.99 in a grab and go cooler at most stores. 15 cents an ounce...NO ONE says 19 .20 is too high for a gallon of belly wash

All this....I truly think Trump is doing this to see who will stand by our side.

If we can be a little patient for once in our modern lives, we may be able to bring Iran down without so much as putting a foot on their soil.

If that happens, and happens in less than 2 months, the world will absolutely know who their daddy is.

Trump should take over Kharg Island afterwards and skim 25% until our military costs of freeing Iran are twice covered. Maybe that’s why the other countries aren’t participating; they know Trump is going to do that, and he’s not offering to cut them in.

The Strait of Hormuz is said to be a "Kill Box" for ships if Iran doesn't allow them passage to move oil tankers.

If things go sideways and the war is escalated oil prices are going to spike and go through the roof. Along with prices of goods. Along with electricity. EVERYTHING. IF this war isn't ended real soon.

Iran and its oil production aren't the only ones hurt badly. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its oil producing countries ( Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) also take a huge hit on their respective economy. And as it happens, they are already "reassessing" their investments in US Tech, USD, and other financial propping in the US (happening as we speak.)

Moreover, the oil interruptions are also destabilizing OTHER nations' economies (China, Japan, India, Europe.) How dumb is this war in Iran? VERY.
