This morning on the radio, they had a segment about Buccee's and people who:

- Pull up to the gas pump
- Wait for their car/truck to get filled up
- Then walk in Buccee's to go shopping while their car is still at the gas pump

Some people apparently finish filling up then go park in the regular parking area to free up the pump for the next baw.

What are your thoughts - Trashy or no to leave your car at the pump to go inside and shop?

If the pumps are busy, you should move your car.

Trashy, inconsiderate, and yet another example of the collapse of the social contract in this country.

This has been discussed many times here and you've been around long enough to know it.

Personally, I either start the pump and then run in to get what I need. Or, fill up and then pull into a regular parking space.

I do this because I try to be considerate of how my actions affect others. But that seems to be rapidly going out of style.

Same here but I am guilty of letting it fill up while I go in to grab something. I love that store and now we have so many in town.

I think it’s situational. I’m not Buc-ee’s obsessed but this goes for anything.

A few months back I went to one and it was empty so I left my truck at the pump went or to pee and get lunch.

I’ve also been there when an employee is walking about asking people to move from pump before coming in.

Normal arse gas station that isn't crazy busy?

Start pump, go in get cold road soda, come back out to a pump that is stopped because most gas stations are in disarray, finish pumping.

At Buccees? just keep driving to the next exit. Kidding, at larger busier gas stations, fill and move.

It’s simple, don’t be an impediment to other people. Exercise some forethought and utilize some rational thinking and move your vehicle so others , who may be in a bigger hurry than you, can complete their business and leave.

trashy isn’t the word. inconsiderate and selfish would be more accurate.

We park at the pump. Wifey and kids go in to sue the restroom and/or grab a snack. I pump gas. Then move to the general parking lot on the side or snipe an upfront row spot. Then walk inside myself.

trashy AF. But sadly, a common occurrence nowadays. I've watched numerous people go inside and order fast food from a McD or Wendys attached to a convenience store. I've also watched people sit at a pump and shoot the shite on their cell phone instead of moving out of the way. People are just more inconsiderate and generally trashy in 2026.

This is the road trip way.

I have never left my car at the pump to go inside. Ever.

At a regular gas station - yes, it's an a-hole move.

At Buccee's - they have over 120 gas pumps, so it's not that huge of a deal.

quote:

The first Buc-ee's in Mississippi, located in Pass Christian (Harrison County) off I-10 at Menge Avenue, features 120 to 126 gas pumps, along with 24 electric vehicle charging stations.

Absolute trash at any convenience store and it happens all the time.
