I found out with all this rain over the past couple months that our yard holds way too much water. We have low spots that don’t help either. So I plan on filling in the low spots, adding French drains to bring water to the street so it can go to the drains. After that, I’ll either seed or sod the yard. No sense in doing that until the water situation is taken care of.

I planted a row of 20 viburnums in a raised bed along my back fence in 2022. They are 7’ tall now and look like a huge green wall. This year I’m expanding the garden, adding some curve to it and adding some layers of plants. Also adding a sprinkler system on a timer like I did to the front garden last year.

Front yard, doing vincas, Angelonias, and replacing petit knockout roses with sunshine ligustrums or loropetulums.

Same here. I’m first going to try to raise those low spots, then sod with zoysia because the area gets decent shade.

Hoping I don’t have to resort to French drains.

Repair all the damage AT&T did to the front yard. Continue to change the backyard from centipede to zoysia.

Working on getting the zoysia in my front yard right.
Bought the house in June and it was 4"-4 1/2".
Leveled it some last summer and got it to 2"-2 1/2".
Level it more and bring it down to around 1-1/2"

Clearing weeds and vines from my side fence my elderly neighbor has let take over.

Cutting back leggy/thined Azaleas that were getting choked out by the weeds/vines once they finish blooming.

Removing old trash shrubs and replacing.

Many more but that's it for this spring and summers projects.

Painting my storage shed and shop building to match the house this weekend. Been wanting to do that for the past year. Will probably put some shrubs along the sides of the buildings and by the doors and hand some barn lights. Should make a huge difference

I'm looking into replacing the rotting wood siding on my shed and front porch with Hardie plank cement siding. I've never worked with it before but I've been doing a lot of research on it and it looks like a decently doable DIY job.

Moving Celebration bermuda into a centipede/st. aug area is my main priority this year, whether spriggs, plugs, or cutting squares.
It looks like it'll take.
There's probably just enough sun for it to be healthy.

Just finished scalping and bagging. I need to get a load of masons sand delivered to start leveling.

I pressure washed the driveway and carport this morning. Will get the house tomorrow.

I have a couple of guava trees that will be going into the ground but that is waiting until after this next cold snap. Going to get the welder out and repair a jambalaya burner that I pulled out of the trash this evening.

Thinking of building a shed shell this summer. When I bought my house I bought an 8x12 tuff shed. It was plenty big enough then since everything I owned could fit in my car. I'm going to build a 16x20 and evening run power to it and insulate. I'll have all my hunting gear in one spot and have room for a reloading bench.

Got a ton of low spots after a couple of tree stumps and a whole mess of
Ginger was removed.

Should I fill with river sand or top soil? Thinking soil this time. Then again I need sand to fill a few areas with crap drainage behind my garage

Sand only.

Silt has torpedo grass seeds.
Soil will just break down and eventually will do no good.

Looking for sand too. I can use 20 yards minimum for about 3 acres.
