Ok this is good to know. I was confused as well.

a flex hose of one size larger than the engine inlets fitting size will probably be more than fine.
And with the generator secured adjacent to the meter, I could run this flex hose straight from the meter to the generator, correct?
Gas Line for 22kw Generac - Certain Length of Straight Run Required?

In the processing of installing a 22kw Generac.
Plumber mentioned needing a certain feet (he might have said 8 ft) of a straight run of pipe for the gas, which would be run from the meter to the generator.
I’m just checking that I’m understanding that requirement correctly and if anyone can confirm this requirement. I plan on putting the generator right next to the meter, so the gas pipe would only need to about a foot long if I could run it directly to the generator without this straight run first.
Thanks

Atrazine spray versus granules? How close to flower bed?
Posted by Seven Costanza on 2/20/26 at 8:47 am
What would allow me to get closer to the edge of a flower bed, atrazine spray or atrazine granules?
How close could I get? The flower bed has a border that goes a depth of 1-2 inches into the ground if that matters.
Centipede lawn in SE Louisiana, USA

I have an existing gravel driveway. I’m looking for recommendations of companies that service Mandeville for installation of a concrete driveway.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Interesting. Good to know. Are you in south Louisiana? Do you provide any supplemental irrigation beyond rainfall?

If so, where are you located? And how much sun are they getting? Any fertilizer regimen or soil tips?
The flowers are supposed to turn pink in the fall, but mine all turn brown and shriveled up well before the fall. Anyone have luck with the flowers sticking around until they change colors?
Supposed to be a Louisiana Super Plant per LSU Ag, but I can’t get good results.

Good to know.
What does it look like between dying from the freeze and when seeds sprout? Just dead foliage? Do you have to pull last year’s plants up?
Also how long from the seeds sprouting until you see flowers?

Looking for ground cover recommendations for between stepping stones.
The spot gets sun midday and some afternoon, so it would need to be a heat tolerant plant.
I’ve tried creeping thyme the past few years, but by mid summer it takes a major beating and majorly dies back.
I have one test spot with variegated vinca minor growing to see how it holds up.
Open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you to everyone for the feedback.
I reached out to other companies for more quotes.
The job was completed by Pabst Cooling Solutions located in Abita Springs for $3800. Highly recommend them.
What they were fixing/replacing for that price:

You are correct.
Spoke with them this morning.
This quote is just for replacing the coils only not the air handler unit.
Their exact words:
“Looking at the quote now. It is for the Coil itself. Aslo, it looks like it would have to come from the factory, with a 3-4 week lead time to get it .”
Edit to add: Getting more quotes this week. I’ll report back.

It’s my understanding that they are just replacing an assembly like this:
I’ll double check with them tomorrow if they planned on replacing the AHU too. No one mentioned that when they were here.
After dinner I’ll go in my attic and grab pictures of the unit itself.
Is everyone saying you would normally replace the entire box it is housed in too?

These are the coils in the attic inside the duct. This is for a 5 ton unit. They called it a Level 17 if that helps.
There is no existing warranty that I can apply. We are not the original owners of the house. 6ish year old system.
Breakdown is approximately:
$4,615 - Parts and Labor to replace coils
$440 - Liquid Line Filter Drier with Coil/Compressor
$455 - Refrigerant (3-4 lbs)
$5,509 Total
A leak was found with the UV dye leak test. Could see where it was leaking with the UV light and could see bubbles forming at the leak with a soap solution.
Update:
Thank you to everyone for the feedback.
