He always struck me as a big time lefty, so that is somewhat surprising (I honestly have no idea what his politics actually are/were)

He probably saw what Washington and California are doing, and he's sandwiched in between them.

Funny how most Lefties have a change of tune when it suddenly affects THEIR pocketbook.

$1 million isn’t going to cut it. Bloomberg spends at least $5 million to $10 million on Democratic nominees

That’s the problem with liberals, they eventually run out of other people’s money.

dude changed his mind when the left started getting serious about taxing millionaires and billionaires more.

Oregon just proposed taxing assets like stocks which will put a hurting on Knight

Shack should donate to his campaign based on what he did to Dudley’s NBA career.

Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike, is a major donor and supporter of the Republican Party, primarily focusing on Oregon state politics. He has consistently donated millions to Republican candidates and political action committees (PACs), such as "Bring Balance to Salem," aiming to elect Republicans to the state legislature and governorship.

Political Activity: Knight has made record-setting donations to Oregon Republican candidates, including $5 million in 2022 to gubernatorial candidates and $3 million in 2025 to a PAC supporting GOP legislative candidates.

Pretty sure he is or was, but more of an old school lib like Bill Maher.

One of those "I didn't leave the party. The party left me." types

That's why I'll never trust any of them.

But if he wants to throw money at the good guys, even for now, I'll accept that.

Serious question though... how effective would a Republican Governor of Oregon be? I'm pretty sure their congress is a blue supermajority.

That’s a million bucks down the hole. I wish it could make a difference, but… it’s Oregon. Unless the Lord Himself takes His hand and scoops Portland into the sea, a Republican has no chance of winning there.

He probably donated just as much to the Dem candidate as well. He's just positioning himself for whoever wins.

Good question. I'd still take the Republican, even though he probably will be hamstrung by the state legislature.

Finally, Phil Knight sees the light. But Chris Dudley will be hard to beat, even in the state of Oregon.

Oh, without a doubt. Even a 100% lame duck Republican Governor would be an improvement over anyone currently holding office on the entire West Coast.

It's a low bar

Chicago Bulls Chris Dudley ? There has to be some sort of relationship, business or personal, for Knight to endorse Dudley. Otherwise, hell is beginning to freeze over in Oregon.

Knight can probably signal that if Oregon goes down to far the commie path companies like his can/will leave.
