Aliexpress has what you are looking for at amazing prices.

Their Lego F1 cars are like 30 bucks and are amazing.

Prices are obscene and I am sort of glad that they have outgrown Legos, they're more geared towards young adults with expendable funds if my local Lego store is the same across the country.

You’re not entitled to Legos.

I agree but if they are for actual kids and they are going to end up being hit with a tennis racket and run over with the mower 6 months after they put them together well………

A lot of those sets arent meant for display and not for kids imo. Minas Tirith is going to be over 8k pieces. I would only put it together once

Believe it or not, Lego prices have actually remained relatively stable over the years.

The general rule of thumb is assume $0.10/piece

Yep, Legos have barely gone up. They were always expensive.

legos was on the verge of going extinct
they have totally reinvented their product and are making a fortune

Pretty sure most of the cost is in the licensing.

I used to manage imports and exports for Lego into the United States. You’d be floored at the mark ups on unit cost. It was staggering to see landed cost va what is charged to the consumer.
