The sad fact, and we are seeing it in different places, is we see people that want freedom and they want to get rid of these oppressive governments, but they are too weak and won't stand up and fight for it themselves.
Yeah, Uncle Sucker! Thank you for coming to save us from this oppressive regime. Wait, you are saying after the bombing we need to rise up and take back the power? You are not coming to do that for us?

That's what Lindsay Graham has said.

Iran is a big country. Opinions vary.

Three very important points.
1) they are completely disarmed
2) the bombs are still falling in Tehran. It wouldn't make much sense to storm buildings that are being targeted for bombing
3) 30,000 plus Iranian citizen protestors were recently murdered for speaking out
It may happen eventually, but not right now.

Regime change was never the goal, so this meme is stupid.

Not our problem
Kind of is because it seems like our administration went into this whole Iran operation expecting that after we crippled the IRGC and took out the ayatollah and a bunch of the regime's top leaders, that the endgame would be the Iranian people finally rising up to overthrow what was left of the regime.
Without the Iranian civilian population overthrowing the regime, it makes it a lot harder for us to have a smooth off-ramp to end the operation.

And here we see the fruits of the admin never committing to a stated goal.
Can always claim victory post-hoc, no matter what happens

well they did get out in the streets and protest - they had no weapons and 35,000 of them got mowed down by the military
dunno what they can do as long as those with the weapons are happy to murder them in the streets with no way to resist.

Thats a lot easier said then done. Right now the IRGC controls just about everything. You cant fight with no weapons, no food, no water, no fuel, no communications.

This is the type of post that makes this board insufferable

The real world doesn’t operate like the 20 second TikTok videos that most people get their news an opinions from.

Its been our problem because Iran and their proxies made it our problem by attacking anyone with ties to Israel and the US.
I love how you fricks think commercial ships should just be blown up without repercussion.

Or we just end up basically where we started, with the (terrible) regime in Iran suffering a temporary setback.
