The only first round running back that won a Super Bowl on the team that drafted him in the last 20 years. He was not an integral part of that. Drafting Love would be awesome but getting him in FA 4 years later sounds like a better deal IMO.

A better deal depends on what he asks for.

Reggie bush doesn’t count in your arbitrary timeline? Seems he should since the Saints drafted him

You didn't try very hard on this, did you?

List of RBs drafted in the 1st round since 2006 that either played in or won a superbowl with their original team:

Won
Reggie Bush - SAINTS
Joseph Addai - Colts
Rashard Mendenhall - Steelers
Sony Michel - Patriots
Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Chiefs

Played in Superbowl, lost
Lawrence Moroney - Patriots
Deangelo Williams - Panthers
Knowshown Moreno - Broncos
Donald Brown - Colts
Todd Gurley - Rams

Love would still be the better deal bc he is actually a starting nfl caliber running back Even if we gave CEH the vet minimum that would still be the case

6 of the top 10 rushers in the league last year were 1st round picks at one point in time.

Judging a RBs draft value by winning SBs with the team that drafts them…….is fricking retarded

I don’t agree at all with what he said but your stat line is misleading. 10 out of the top 15 nfl rushers are 2nd round and beyond. The top 3 leading nfl rushers are not first round picks. 5 out of the top 6,

Over the last 10 seasons

a first round RB has led the league in yards from scrimmage eight times.

A first round RB has led the league in TDs 7 times

Look at the top 10 in these stats every year, it’s littered with first round guys. Mainly top 12 guys. If you’re hunting elite RBs, this is where you do it. Youre equating team success with individual success

These two actually make his point.

Mendenhall was hurt the year they won the Super Bowl. He had zero impact that year, they actually won it with an UDFA rb starting. So that tells you how important that pick was.

And Addai was a very late first who took the place of Edge James who like Love could be a top 5 pick. They could never win the Super Bowl with him after burning the #4 overall pick on him to pair with Manning. They won the superbowl the year after he left….

CEH didn’t play in one superbowl they won and I’m not sure he even got a carry in the second one.

Winning a Super Bowl is a dumb small minded approach. Makes you better is pretty fair

Drafting a big time receiver or edge will also make you better…
