Of the winners, only Reggie Bush played a meaningful role on the team the year they won. Edit: Actually relooked at it and Bush had his worst statistical year of his first 4 year the year we won. xD Michel, while certainly not great, had better overall seasons the 2 they won with him, yet certainly not THE reason or even one of the main reasons they one.
Correct, PT was our number one. Bush was just a complimentary player that we replaced with a rb taken in the 4th round (Sproles) that actually outperformed him in that role.
Sony Michel was off the Patriots team after three years and out of the league by 5. Kinda a waste of a first rounder.

Drafting a big time receiver or edge will also make you better…
51 OL, WRs and Edges were drafted in the top 10 since 2015
2 have won a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them - Devonta Smith and Charles cross. Smith wasn’t even WR1 on his team.
Why? Because QB is the only true position affecting a team’s success. Secondly, bad teams generally pick in the top 10 and bad teams don’t win super bowls

Seahawks won the super bowl.
they drafted a G last year in Rd 1.
For us to win a super bowl this year, we draft a G.

Don't necessarily disagree with this, but you are trying to draft the best player that fits your team, not just a really good one. We have no idea who that is, which is why this whole argument is pretty silly.
It could be Love, Downs, one of the ends, a receiver, etc. We won't ever truly know, but the one thing we do know is what a position costs in FA relative to others, and certain positions give you extremely bad value and have a severe opportunity cost when it comes to signing FAs in the future. So if you take a swing on those poor value positions you need to be VERY right and those players need to be far above the others drafted around them.
This is a very logical analysis. Most years I would absolutely agree with you on positional value…..but some years are different. There is not a lot of high end talent in this class so if you are in a position to get one of the few elite prospects…..you take him.
Especially when you consider that this team is in desperate need of game breakers (especially on offense). For those reasons, I am perfectly fine with taking Love……unless of course you get a great offer to trade back and add picks.

25 QBs have been taken in the top ten during that same period. Wanna take a guess how many have won a superbowl with the team that drafted them?
One. Pat Mahomes at #10.
That number could be higher b/c they had a few taken at #11.
