Be careful everybody out on the highway quick story that happened to me earlier

I had my guys planting corn out on the side of them pretty major highway.
This family of Mexicans with three little kids, some dude and his wife had a flat.
After watching him for a min or two It was obv he didn’t know what he was doing, so one of it workers and I pulled up to help. He gets an impact wrench to get the tire off ,, anyway long story short ….there was probably 20 or 30 cars that passed us in the 10 minutes that it took us to change the tire
I guarantee you out of 25 cars, 20 of them didn’t slow down or scoot over. I had my truck with a hazard lights on and their two vehicles with the hazard lights on plus 4 adults on side road.
I’m just telling you we live amongst some of the stupidest, dumbest human beings on the face of the Earth. Esp when it comes to driving.
I’ve never in my life…..It pissed me off so bad if I had a wrench or tire tool in my hand id thrown it at these idiots.
PSA…..if you see somebody on the side of the road with their flashers, slow the frick down and scoot over a little bit if there’s a car coming and meeting you OK fine just slow down.
It’s a wonder more people don’t get killed like this.

People today on the road are unhinged and outright despicable. I blame the work from home culture.
Driving to Austin before daylight today and fog was horrendous. Everyone pacing, driving slow enough for defense. Here comes Billy bad arse in his F250 (no trailer ball) going on the median to pass everyone. Guessing he was late for his control room shift duty. Idiot.

Having to pull over to the shoulder on the interstate or major highway is some scary shite. A split second of some dipshit not paying attention and you could be a goner.

Just a day ago nearby, a woman was killed and man critically injured while pulled over in emergency lane exchanging insurance info after a fender bender. Florida has a move over law that's rarely followed.

I'd rather be on a highway filled with drunks than the fricksticks swerving all over the place because they aren't looking at the road. I can spot a phone watcher from a mile away.

I’ve told my wife and children to NEVER stop on the side of the interstate or busy highway if the car will move. Limp down the shoulder on the rim as far as necessary to get to a safe place. I will happily buy another tire, wheel, fender, etc. Too many distracted drivers and idiots out there. It’s as dumb as riding a bicycle in traffic for exercise.

I had a flat on the side of the interstate many years ago. Front tire on driver's side. It was horrifying having to change it on the shoulder of the road. Semi trucks would come by hauling arse so fast it would rock the truck. And like OP said, very few even moved over. Easily the most traumatic experience I've had changing a flat tire.

Here in Louisiana DOTD has trucks that will come and change it for you if you call. Id definitely pull off the highway and especially the interstate to an exit.
