There are more details in the link. Absolute evil
law and crime

quote:
A Pennsylvania judge refused to suppress statements made by a 31-year-old Ph.D. student in which she allegedly admitted to inflicting fatal injuries on one of her best friend's newborn twins while babysitting.
Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Jill E. Rangos on Monday rejected defendant Nicole Virzi's request to preclude jurors from hearing her tell investigators she intentionally shook and dropped the infant multiple times in 2024 until she heard a "crack."
Virzi is charged with criminal homicide in the death of 6-week-old Leon Katz, whom Virzi allegedly killed while babysitting as his parents were at the hospital with his twin brother. She is also facing multiple counts of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, including allegations that she was responsible for injuring Leon's twin brother. Prosecutors have already said they will seek the death penalty.

Sounds like they need to shake her until they hear a crack too.

Really. There is no need for a long, drawn out trial, sentencing, appeal process. She needs to die.

There is no crime on earth worse than murdering an infant. None.

This was the twin she hurt first. It’s like she also could have set up the situation to be left alone with the other twin she murdered.
quote:
Investigators said they learned that Virzi was the only one taking care of Leon at the time, since the victim's parents had taken their other son, Leon's twin brother, to the hospital after Virzi "discovered" an "injury to the genital area."
quote:She went there to hurt the babies. Probably jealous her friend was having a life or maybe jealous she had kids as she was wanted the mom to herself.
Virzi, who was living in San Diego, traveled to Pennsylvania in June 2024 to see Leon's mother, who was her best friend, according to the Tribune-Review.

I'm assuming they aren't friends any longer?

From NBC:
Virzi was pursuing her doctorate at the University of California, San Diego. According to the university's website, she was studying behavioral medicine in the joint doctoral program in clinical psychology....When Gov. Josh Shapiro took office last year, he announced that he would not issue any execution warrants during his term. He called on the General Assembly to abolish the death penalty, saying, "The Commonwealth shouldn't be in the business of putting people to death."
Psych links do not surprise me. NBC site links to Virzi's page at UCSD and it is now "under maintenance".

There should be swift justice in this case in the form of being tossed off a high building.

This is horrible regardless, but now that I have a little girl of my own, this hurts my heart and pisses me off way more than before I had kids. She deserves a slow and painful death. And I hope someone provides her with that.

I had to click on the article to verify this was a real quote. Wow. I presumed this was a case of the infant screaming crying for hours until she got frustrated and lost her cool, which is obviously still not an excuse to shake and drop the baby on purpose, but this.... this is something else.. Don't see how she can be allowed to continue to live in society with this kind of cat out of the bag.
