1 UCLA 6-1 1
2 LSU 8-0 2
3 Texas 7-0 3
4 Mississippi State 8-0 4
5 Georgia Tech 8-0 5
6 Arkansas 6-1 8
7 Auburn 6-1 9
8 North Carolina 6-1-1 10
9 Coastal Carolina 5-2 6
10 Florida 7-1 12
11 Georgia 6-1 14
12 Southern Miss 6-1 20
13 Oklahoma 7-0 21
14 NC State 5-1 17
15 Clemson 7-0 19
16 Wake Forest 6-1 22
17 Miami 9-0 23
18 TCU 2-5 7
19 Oregon State 4-3 11
20 Tennessee 5-2 13
21 FSU 4-2 16
22 Kentucky 5-2 18
23 Texas A&M 7-0 24
24 West Virginia 5-1 25
25 Ole Miss 8-0 NR
Dropped Out: Louisville (15)

Couple interesting observations:
-6 SEC teams in Top 10 and 12 in Top 25
-Only 4 teams in Top 12 remain undefeated and 9 in Top 25
-OU was the biggest riser from 21st to 13th

All very early and doesn't mean much at this point, but I'm always curious to watch which teams stay undefeated the longest. The real season doesn't start until league play.

I respect that D1 stays firm with their criteria, for the most part.

They basically don't give any credence to early losses to bad teams, absent an abysmal stretch. They also essentially don't count midweek games.

It's annoying, but it's always been how they operate.

We’re nearly halfway to the longest win streak in D1 history currently. Would need to keep it up through the beginning of SEC play though. Our pre-conf schedule will give us a chance

Texas holds the record at 34 straight W’s in 1977. LSU currently at 16 straight wins.

Anyone find it interesting OU is moving up so much in the polls?

I mean they went from 15 to 10 in BA and 21 to 13 in D1...and all they did was play one of the worst teams D1 over the weekend in Coppin St and a mid-week against New Mexico St

I realize they are blowing the doors off these teams but that seems like a crazy jump especially over some other teams who also went undefeated last week.

We need to win out through the home series against OU to tie the win streak record. At Vandy is the first conference series though and that’ll probably be the biggest road block to breaking it. Still too early to tell if OU is being overrated based on their competition so far

They obviously do. Tennessee dropped 7 spots from 13 to 20 because of their 2 losses this weekend.

That's because it was a series loss. They don't look at a mid week loss or a single weekend loss as a huge negative (until it becomes a pattern).

They seem to have very different opinions of Oregon.

Kent St will be interesting to follow. They finished 38-17 last season but didn't make the regionals. Starting off with a solid effort vs LSU and taking 2 of 3 @Tenn bodes well for them.

UCLA will have that #1 ranking tested this weekend. They play Tennessee, A&M, and Mississippi State.

I know they play in the B10 which they need to play some good OOC games but they really are testing themselves out heavily in their OOC play

3x against TCU
Tournament in TXC against TN, A&M and MSU

Threw a mid-week against Cal St fullerton and Tulane in there too before B10 play starts. Played UC San Diego to open the season 3x too who is certainly not a good team/program but is fairly solid after moving from DII a few years back. They ended up #82 in RPI back in 2023. low mid 100 range in 2024 and 2025.

No Vanderbilt? I'm aware that it's early, but what's up with them this year?

Catch 22. I like how they don’t overreact and move teams much based off of a mid-week loss, but pre-season rankings shouldn’t factor into in-season rankings.

I agree, but that’s not what the post said.

While theyve had regular season success since the NIL era started, its crazy to me they havent been out a regional since 2021. 4 straight years of regional exits. Tim Corbin's stock hasnt been going up or staying among the elite tier like it used to, thats for sure.

Just like last year for them, it does not matter what they do the rest of the regular season. They don't have another ranked team on their schedule.

All that matters is that they secure the autobid in the MAC tournament.
