Haven’t watched women’s hockey before today. Just scanned headlines about “31-1”

All that being said, if these are the two best women’s hockey teams in the world, I will stop being so hard on the WNBA.

I don't think this is great hockey or anything, but it's infinitely more watchable than women's basketball.

The players are very skilled and have great hockey sense. It's just at a slower speed.

Basketball exposes the limitations of female athleticism far more than Hockey.
Does it look and play like "the female version" of a sport, of course.
But its not jarring and off-putting like the WNBA.

Women for whatever reason can’t change direction or speed very quickly or gracefully. That kills them on a basketball court.
Less friction with hockey skates might make it easier for women to move well enough to make hockey look ok.

Women’s hockey is far more entertaining to watch than women’s basketball. Not even close. The skill from that girl that scored the winner tonight was top notch.

Can you even stand up in skates? Fastest men are 24/25 mph fastest women are 21/22. So it’s not even close. The problem for you is TV. You see a ton of room, it doesn’t exist on ice. You also see it much slower than it is. Hockey isn’t a tv sport. Enjoy your missed layups.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this, I could put 10 guys together from a beer league I used to play in and we'd whip any female team in the Olympics, by 5 goals min. They're slow, make terrible decisions, and can't shoot with any velocity.

Yeah, no. Basketball yes. Soccer yes. Hockey no. I watch tier 1 girls teams play against boys teams all the time from 18/16u and all are kicking the shite out of beer league cajungoalies.

It’s more watchable than women’s basketball by alot but I do think it highlighted the difference in men and women as much or more than basketball watching it . The speed (or lack thereof) was jarring
