Ted Levine apologizes for his buff bill role in ‘silence of the lambs’

Addressing his performance as the crossdressing serial killer Buffalo Bill – who kills women so that he can wear their skin – Levine said that he had come to regret the role since “having gotten aware and worked with trans folks, and understanding a bit more about the culture and the reality of the meaning of gender.”

Transsexuals are very passive. I agree his portrayal did more to harm an already vulnerable group over the years. It propagates a lot of false stereotypes.

He played a serial killer who murdered women, skinned them, sewed their skin together, then wore it like a frickin housecoat and he's apologizing decades because he says he didn't get it correct? It's a psycho murderer in a goddamn movie, it's not supposed to portray a wide group of people. Funny he feels the need to be all sorry after another trans actually murdered people again
