Full Size SUV Recs

Considering letting my truck go and switching to a full size SUV. Looking at these.
1A. Tremor Expedition
1B. Sequoia (possibly TRD Pro)
a distant third is a tahoe/Yukon.
I want 4x4 and rear captains chairs. Other than that I am pretty open and looking at 2025 or 2026 models.
I am coming out of a Ford F150 that is 9yrs old and has cost me some money over the past few years. Maybe I am a little soured on them. I have read that the new expedition has had some issues but mostly in tech type items and creature comforts. I have test driven one and really liked it even though the new interior is a bit odd.
Sequoia seems to be the most reliable per my limited research. potentially doesn’t carry as much tech options as the expedition or GM product. Does not offer hands free driving like the others. The 3rd row doesnt fold flat which seems annoying.
On the GM products, ive just read that the latest engines including the diesel option has had some failures.
What else may I be missing and what might you fine ladies and gents recommend to me.

I have the Lexus version and my buddy have the TD pro and it’s pretty awesome. Be aware that back seat leg space isn’t great for tall people and if you get the hybrid you lose a lot of storage space if it’s a 3rd row model. I think the advantages offset those but know what you’re working with.

I have had three sequias. They are great for start a family, pack a pack n play, etc. But (first world prob) they are not giving you a loaner when you come in with an issue. They are not washing it unless you ask. They are great, but you are paying a nice tag for a limited or better and then you are on your own. We loved the first two, not the last one but we should have gone smaller and just made the mistake. Honestly, I like the highlander better depending on your family. Lexus sucks

Tahoe/suburban.
There is a reason they dominate the full size game. Engine wise the the 6.2 had some issues but not the 5.3, it's a proven platform, and lol for calling out GM for engine issues but not Toyota for the V6 trash they have now.

GM’s Super Cruise is the best hands free system short of a Tesla.
Drive them all. That’s what we did and we ended up in a Yukon XL AT4. Your choice of 3 different engines, and the best ride in the class. No gas particulate filters. Plenty of power. The diesel gets excellent mileage. The L84 5.3L is a reliable unit - much improved over the L83 from a couple of years ago. They claim the 6.2 is improved but we’ll see.
Expedition is second best. Definitely a solid option if the local Ford dealer is really good or if you don’t like the styling of the GM trucks. Some weird interior design choices by Ford but this is a very solid option otherwise. Some of them have a gas particulate filter in 2026, and I’m opposed to that in principle.
Sequoia is a disappointment. I wanted to like it. I am a Toyota guy and I was trading in a 5th Gen 4Runner because we needed more space. But that Sequoia is a train wreck from a design standpoint, and offers the least reliable engine in its class - which is saying something.
The Nissan Armada is surprisingly good. Much better than the Sequoia, but I’m not sure if Nissan will hold their value.
Jeep is the worst from a depreciation standpoint, but I think it has one of the best engines. The Hurricane motor is very responsive and smooth. The interior is well designed on this rig too. But it’s got a history of having a lot of issues.
Before anyone asks….my beloved 5th gen 4Runner has already been sold. I’m going to miss it.

I’m not a full size SUV aficionado, but I drove a friend’s new Expedition from Bay St Louis to NOLA, and that’s a fine vehicle for the open road.

Parents and Sister both had Expedition MAX's. After a few mong family trips with them, we decided to move to a full size SUV. Went in with the intention of getting the Expedition. For the sake of being thorough we stopped at GMC to take a look. At least for the 2025 model year it had more features, noticeably nicer fit and finish, and just looked better. Test drove it and never went back to the Ford dealer again. Still only had it for a year, but no complaints so far.
