More LHSAA… they want to allow one free transfer again…

From the By-U sports Facebook
What they may want to look into is changing “select” and “nonselect” into “zoned” and “nonzoned”…

So much for being a Prinicpal’s Organization.
LHSAA members today were basically told in not so many words that if they do not pass legislation enacting a one time free transfer rule that the State Legislature is going to intervene and place it on them.
So it’s coming, folks.
Players WILL NOT be allowed to follow coaches, be coerced via recruiting and/or leave to become eligible because ineligible at other schools.

why would the state legislature want to do this?

Explain this to me, maybe I am misreading this.
This statement:
And this statement:
Seem to be contradictory. Explain it to me like I am a two year old.

I see nothing wrong with it, if they limit it to one time, unlike the ncaa.
If I, as a parent, want my kid to go to a different school, for any reason, and I can provide transportation, then so be it.

Some Holy Cross and Brother Martin wrestlers, who left St Paul’s, started that shite..

There’s plenty fricking wrong with it. This is a foot in the door to frick up high school football the same way college football got fricked up.
It starts as a one time transfer, then before you know it, the sport is completely fricked. Because this won’t be enough, and they’ll just keep adding and adding and adding.
Pandora’s box. Keep the bitch closed.
And I hit a fricking pothole this morning and almost ripped my car apart. How about fix that instead of worrying about high school sports and a private organization.

Well it’s all sports, not just football.
And again/ if they keep it to one year, it will be ok.
Why the hell can’t I let my kid go to school where he wants without having to miss 25% of his high school career.
That’s absolutely retarted, bc how it is now- Karen Hoyt gets to pick and choose who sits and doesn’t. If she holds a grudge against the school you are going to, which she is known for, you are SOL.

What I’m wondering is the breakdown of where all the legislators come from… I suspect it heavily favors select schools

The legislators are not going to turn on principals
Not if they plan on getting re-elected

I know it’s an issue transferring from public to private, but what if a kid transfers from private to public?

I was told this is a Northshore push for sending their kids to the Catholic League.

They’re going to choose the money (that wants to end the split) over the principals though

Why should my tax dollars pay for a kid that does not live in my district?
Posted on 2/11/26 at 6:28 am to JJ27
I don’t know of a single Northshore school voting in favor of this.
This will absolutely wreck programs. Tampering will be out of control and how will this be policed? Attendance zones? What would be the point of those anymore?
There’s just way too many question marks that won’t be able to be answered. If they ram this through, everything is fricked. Bookmark it.

You have to "live" in the public school district.
If you already live in that district, you are free to transfer and not sit.
Having said that I know of a kid that played varsity last season at a public school and is now playing varsity at a private school, did not sit. Not sure how they were able to get the waiver from LHSAA, but they did it.

There should be something to allow kids at schools that receive constant transfers-in that would let the kids losing their spot to shenanigans leave without penalty.

how about you dont own the mother fricking kids and their skills....if you dont want the kids to leave....provide better facilities, better coaching, more support
this isnt the NCAA where boosters are going to pay for a kids. GTFO acting like you own the kid.

% but all the people who feel like they own a kids skills are going to be pissed. How dare he leave us and go somewhere else...who the frick does he think he is? I mean do his parents think they are better than us?
for all the ones bitching....here is a simple solution...learn to fricking compete and invest in your schools and programs instead of just complaining that things are unfair!!!
kids dont leave if you are providing a better learning environment, better teachers, better coaches, better facilities, better fan support, better support to get them to the next level etc etc

private schools have actual districts too, could be the case. lots of ways he could have gotten the waiver though
but i love the hypocrisy.... start at a private school and then transfer to your in zone public school....oh thats ok. but god forbid you go to a public school and realize its dog shite with class disruptors all over the place and overall bad learning environment. and you transfer to a private school......well we cant have that, must sit a year
in the end....the kids should be able to go to whatever school they want in that school boards area. and LHSAA should allow a kid to transfer
why is it ok for adults to transfer jobs? wtf is the difference?
lets say a kid is a bad arse QB....but he has the #1 qb in the country in front of him in the same class.....should he never get to play because he lives inside some imaginary lines? thats stupid as shite.
