(East bound)
Drove in recently for 1st time in daytime in long time.
Bridge railing missing numerous sections.
Railing is aged dirty brown as if Mt Vesuvius coughing up a lung on it.
Cement wall between I-10 West/East bound lanes needs power washing like British need dentists.
Where is the pride, state capitol? Wreaks of Tired, industrial, time has passed us by feeling.
Does not have to look like entry to Disneyworld, but some below avg care & cleaning…would be improvement.
Looks more like Houma or Des Aalemands after a hurricane. I tease those b/c I am part of those.

Im more concerned with the traffic actually moving than the aesthetics. If we can do both awesome. But if I have to choose 1....

I thought this was going to be about the bridge not being lit up for the gays

The bar/pizza building under the bridge in 1968 was called the Past Time.

Worst Haiku ever.

Why would they replace the railing when all the current infrastructure is being replaced with new construction?
Where have you observed interstate roads being pressure washed?
Extra credit. What’s the difference between cement and concrete?

STFU. Been all over the country and nowhere needs a power washing like BR. Maybe because we have a refinery right in our doorstep?

I haven’t but we need it. City looks like shite.

Meanwhile, let’s have a look at the gleaming Mississippi River bridge connecting Greenville MS to rural Arkansas.

They had drones cleaning the sound walls on I10 before Christmas. Don’t know that I’ve ever heard of the dividing wall getting cleaned.
Be glad you didn’t see all the trash dumped on East Harrison. Nothing screams “welcome” like a huge dumping area used by the ghetto natives who couldn’t possibly haul their shite to the dump. Pretty sure the Interstate construction has covered up that eyesore.

Who is responsible for upkeep? Feds, state, city?

Raise u a sonnet…
Beneath Baton Rouge, the bridges sigh with age,
Their girders stained by rust and years of rain.
The roads remember every weary stage
Of tires that hum through dust, through grit, through pain.
Oil-darkened lanes reflect the city’s wear,
Where cracks like maps reveal what time has done.
Each pothole tells a story left unrepaired,
Each shoulder bears the weight we’ve learned to shun.
Yet still these paths bind neighbor unto neighbor,
Carry hope in trucks and schoolbound cars.
Give them the care that honors honest labor,
And clears the grime that dims our humble stars.
For cities rise when hands repair the way,
And clean roads promise brighter trips each day.
