OLOL or Oschner? Do you prefer one over the other for better healthcare or are they both about the same?

I had a pretty bad motorcycle accident a couple years ago, head injuries, broken ribs, spent almost 2mos in hospital. Oschner Lafayette system pulled me through…

Go overseas. Your vacation will pay for it and get much better healthcare.
American doctors #1 goal is to get you addicted to drugs. Take a pill….never trust it.
Other countries are so much better.

Well there’s a good answer. Not a common sense answer, but what you come to expect on the OT. Carry on.

OLOL is the provider for Medicaid.
Baton Rouge General is where you want to be for elective treatments.
I work with nurses on a daily basis and they've always told me to stay away from OLOL unless you're suffering from a drug overdose, gunshot or stab wound.

The few times I and my wife have used Ochsner were terrible experiences with utterly incompetent staff who didn’t know their arse from a hole in the ground and told us the wrong thing every time. We will be with the OLOL system forever from now on.

They’re all garbage now. Thanks big insurance, pharma, and private equity. They are all looking to make money and that’s it.
I’ve spoken to many older doctors who are exhausted including a family member from the bs.
Most caregivers type into a computer and the system, which is designed for maximum profit, spits out what they should do.

Who is little insurance? Little pharma?
It is the risk management departments and the standards of care they impose on any doctor in their system. That's how the doctor that treated me for blood clots and PE more than once was not allowed to grant me a COVID shot exemption in 2021.
They need money to pay for the billions in services they provide to illegals that are never paid for. Memorial Hermann, Baylor Scott and White, and Methodist systems are all non profits. That covers most of Texas.

In Baton Rouge? OLOL any day. Never Ochsner at O’Neal.

OLOL may look like the charity hospital these days, but Ochsner clearly missed pneumonia on X-rays for one relative that led OLOL to diagnose via that X-ray and admit, and for another, let appendix rupture and that caused a week in ICU. Unfortunately, medicine isn’t what it used to be and most medical care is garbage.

Probably Epic. It’s on the laptops and iPads carried around.

I find Ochsner in BR very good with appointment times and fast reporting blood results as well as presenting the data in usable way, although I only see 2 docs there. Ochner shows the data trends in graphical format, whereas OLOL/Mary B just shows lists and tables. OLOL has lengthy wait times with the 2 docs I've seen there.
