Nuss Talks About Injury

Okay, let's get this out of the way early. I haven't been a big fan of Nuss and to be honest, I dont believe he was truly injured. He may have played hurt, but a core injury doesn't mean you throw to checkdowns every single time.

My biggest hang up is everyone is going to say "BK told him not to talk about it".

Why wouldnt Nuss blame his lack of production on the injury AFTER BK was fired. Literally a perfect opportunity to save face. "BK told me not to speak about it, but now hes gone I can say that Ive been dealing with a core injury I sustained in the Clemson game and its affected my decision making since I lack the power to deliver the ball like I know I can."

Wish the guy luck, but 2 years of limping off the field while appearing fine on the next play or drive gas turned me into a non NUSS believer.

Something was obviously wrong, dude was slinging it like Brett Farve in that SEC championship game.

Because maybe he’s just trying to do and say the right things without burning bridges.

“Why isn’t he more ruthless in blasting BK?”

Because he’s better than that.

If the guy says he was injured who am I to question that? But I don't see how his injury leads to all the horrible decisions he made as a fifth year starter. That is what I would be concerned about if I were evaluating him as a scout.

Stopped here. You must be retarded. No one could watch him sling it in 2024 and not realize he was hurt in 2025. Dude couldn't throw the ball 15 yards.

Core injuries dont affect decision making. Core injuries affect velocity, and potentially accuracy but the fact that Nuss missed guys wide open downfield and instead threw to checkdowns tells me a lot.

You may disagree because of the feel good story of Nuss coming back or sticking around, but if you objectively look at his SEC stats from last year, he was never as great as this board tried to make him.

Nussmeier was the first class person with whom lies were being told about and was putting his reputation on the line playing like shite with 1000% good intentions of being a team player wanting to do everything he could to help his team win while not making excuses. frick off.

Moscona claims to know what his true injury is, but is withholding that info until later.

Thanks Scone

Maybe not, but a terrible offensive scheme and play calling certainly will. It does, however, prevent the thrower from getting the most out of their arm and push the ball vertically down the field.

You don’t think that not having the arm strength to throw to receivers down field would result in more checkdowns?

Sorry, didn't mean to imply he'd started five years. Regardless, my point still stands, he was in the program five years, second full year starting. Injuries aside, I would have expected his decision making, time management, etc, to have been much better than it was.

Uhh you ever thought he was throwing too many check downs, because he knew the core injury wouldn’t let him be effective throwing deep balls?

Do you think Nuss was EVER affective throwing the deep ball? Heads up, he never has been. Sub 30% completion on throws over 25 yards INCLUDING 2024 season.

He didn’t throw check downs every pass. That was all he could complete. Every deep pass was off. He was hurt.
You don’t forget how to pass after you were good at it the year prior.

LSU star QB Garrett Nussmeier dealing with torso injury

This was heading into the Southeastern game. Could have sat him then and potentially had him healthy later. But started him and we all saw how limited the offense was.

Another point that was previously brought up was Nuss's "pitch count" in Fall Camp. Meaning the injury had to have happened before the season started.

LSU coach Brian Kelly said quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is dealing with a torso injury and probably won't be fully recovered until he can rest during the Tigers' bye week later this month.

Kelly said Nussmeier developed the injury from throwing so much in preseason camp, and that LSU's trainers are limiting his work in practice as he recovers.

"He's been slowed a little bit with a torso injury, and he's fighting through it, and he's getting better," Kelly told reporters Monday. "He's not going to be able to shut it down until the bye week."
