A quote by Kiana Danial that I tend to agree with regarding the state of affairs today

She is a financial author if you're wondering

quote:

Communist ideology supported by the left.
Armed state violence supported by the right.
That combination led to Iran’s 1979 Islamic regime revolution.
The Iranian people regretted it almost immediately and have lived with that regret for 47 years.
My family lost everything.
We lived this story.
Stop giving up your freedom cheaply.
Getting it back will be expensive.
Americans must step out of party loyalty and return to independent thinking. Before it’s too late.

I tend to agree with this and see a lot of it here and on social media. People are so boxed into a left/right paradigm that the truth often eludes them. It's dangerous hive mind thinking.

I will say I have seen more independent thought here as of late and that's encouraging

This is ridiculous. The right doesn't support 'armed state violence'. They support the rule of law, for EVERYONE. If that requires violence, whose fault is that?

The extreme right definitely does

I wouldn't say that applies to your average right winger

Some of these folks don’t understand that being hyper partisan limits them tremendously.

Also causes them to be wrong way more than they’d otherwise need to be.

On the other hand, they see folks like you obfuscating and what looks like debating in very, VERY bad faith. This causes them to dog in and become more partisan. I don’t like it, but I get it.

ETA: Didn’t see the armed state violence part.

What does that refer to in this case?

It's not about "both sides" so much as it is extremists on either side can cause a lot of problems for the rest of law abiding society.

And again, who continually causes violence in the streets and burns cities down?

Not the right

How else should we handle leftist cocksuckers assaulting federal agents?

State violence is sometimes the answer. This is one of those times where it's the answer.

Intentionally provoking situations is not the answer. This can be done by both words and actions. And yes both sides have done both of these things. I'll admit that the left has done a lot more of both.

I mean, ok

But the left is an armed, authoritarian movement. It has mobs, it engages in assassinations, when in power, it uses the full might of the state to crush dissent.

I'm as worried about the non state actors as I am about the government on the left. The color revolution types are a problem in left wing cities. The messaging coming from Walz is very dangerous as well and he needs to calm tf down.

Is enforcing US migration law now considered “provocative”? How far are you going back in history to support your bOtH sIdEs crap?

No. The manner in which it is done can be deemed so though
