A story of what suicidal empathy gets you.

Meet Amy Biehl, a German descent 26 year old young woman who was a student at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town as a scholar in the Fulbright Program.

She went to South Africa to help anti-apartheid activism; voter education during South Africa’s transition from apartheid.

She was there to sympathize with South Africans before they destroyed a beautiful nation.

As she drove three friends home to the township of Gugulethu, outside Cape Town, on August 25, 1993, a mob pulled her from the car and stabbed and stoned her to death.

Her killers were Mzikhona Nofemela, Ntobeka Peni, Vusumzi Ntamo and Mongezi Manqina 1998, all four convicted murderers were pardoned by South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission, when they stated that their actions had been politically motivated.

Her father shook their hands and hired two of the men.

Her father is a piece of garbage. What a sad, pathetic, weak excuse of a man.

Christians are to love everyone, including their enemies. We are to forgive enemies if they repent, and pray for them regardless. Empathy is a good thing. Jesus has it for us and we are to have it for other human beings, image-bearers of God.

Our motivation for these things is love for God first, and a Christian love for neighbor second. I wonder if this woman or her father had these in mind, or if they were blinded by man-made ideals that amounted to foolish idolatry.

I love them so much I want them to be with God immediately!

I recognize you are being snarky here, but if they are our enemies, it is probably because they are first enemies of God.

If they are not trusting in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins, we should want them to repent of their sin and believe in Jesus before they die; eternally receiving the wrath of God is something that we should not want for anyone, but should desire reconciliation through Christ.

Ethnocentrism crushes humanitarianism over time. It is a human evolutionary feature.

It's been studied and published:

"Why Is Ethnocentrism More Common Than Humanitarianism?" (Shultz, Hartshorn, & Kaznatcheev, 2009)

Subject:

Ethnocentrism = cooperate with in-group (same tag/group) members, defect on out-groups.

Humanitarianism = unconditional cooperation with everyone, regardless of group.

Conclusion:

Ethnocentrism dominates because it exploits humanitarian unconditional generosity across cluster boundaries (the "direct hypothesis"):

Ethnocentrics at frontiers receive free cooperation (benefits) from adjacent humanitarians without reciprocating (they defect).

Humanitarians pay the cooperation cost but get nothing in return from ethnocentrics, weakening their clusters over generations.

So you see this is exactly the case of the Somali immigrants who came here and soaked up all the humanitarian benefits bestowed on them and used it only for their in group, giving nothing back.

Their ethnocentric group grew stronger while the humanitarian group grows weaker and pays the price.

I am being snarky because I think your take on Christianity is certain to extinguish the religion.

Christianity thrives when Christian soldiers conquer.

Preaching weakness as some sort of inherent quality of Christianity is wrong.

I have no sympathy when people swim with monsters and then are eaten by them.
