Maybe it’ll start a conversation. Insane asylums are desperately needed.
I’m all for it but how does an executive order bring them back?

Well, he was elected president of the United States….twice. Maybe he’s onto something

Thanks, Twix. What did y'all think of Bremer at the time?

I was 20 years old:lol:
I think it would have been a completely different ballgame if we hadn’t done the de Baathification and completely disbanded all of the Iraqi security forces. It’s like Paul Bremer was actively trying to throw the country into chaos.

you already get the strategic benefits without owning the territory, formal ownership is almost always a downgrade. Soft power lets you project force, base assets, and shape outcomes while offloading costs and liabilities. Once you “own” a place, you also own its politics, courts, infrastructure, social spending, and international headaches. That is not free power, it is a permanent bill. From a cost perspective, soft control is far cheaper. Bases and defense guarantees cost money, but annexation multiplies that cost indefinitely. You move from paying for a base to paying for roads, healthcare, pensions, disaster response, and governance. Greenland stops being a strategic asset and becomes a budget line item with voters attached. Flexibility is the biggest advantage. Soft power is adjustable. You can expand, contract, renegotiate, or exit as conditions change. Territory acquisition is rigid. Treaties can be rewritten. Borders cannot without drama. Soft power lets you adapt without being trapped by sunk cost fallacy. If you already have access, leverage, and strategic control, ownership adds cost, reduces flexibility, damages alliances, and creates liabilities you do not need. Power you can adjust beats power you have to maintain forever.

If it’s all such a hassle then why is Denmark and the rest of the EU all up in arms about it? You’d think they’d be happy to offload the dead wait.

think Trump will cost him the election with all that’s going on under his watch. I like Vance and would love for him to win, but this is going to be like Covid, riots and fake voting the next round

Chill bro:lol:

don’t believe He ever has been, but when it was soothing for his supporters to pretend that he was, they did. Isolationism had been a pretty large component of the MAGA attitude until it was necessary to shift. It’s the same with the pedo stuff. MAGA was really vocal about their anti-pedo stance until it began to look like Trump’s administration was going to protect pedos. Now it’s all “pay no attention to the child rapist behind the curtain”. No real principles whatsoever.

So you don’t necessarily have a problem with Trump’s policies, just his supporters?

re: If this is real, does it concern you?

Trump is not a shrewd negotiator. He’s actually losing his grip. Early signs of dementia?

I don’t know how anyone can accuse Trump of having dementia with a straight face after Biden’s term
When has Trump ever been an isolationist?

The US already has a strategic military installation in Greenland. There’s no need for the US to “own” it unless Trump has plans to operate in a way that isn’t beneficial to the US’s NATO allies.

If the US already has de facto military control and is pretty much solely responsible for its defense of Greenland, why shouldn’t we own it?
I think a lot of ME countries that put bases are in wouldn’t let us launch sorties from their territory.

Which is a lot better than nothing. They were on the freaking edge.

We don’t know what has or hasn’t been done. There are a lot of other options besides dropping bombs. I’m sure a lot of cyber is going on. Some covert CIA shite. These types of things don’t happen at the speed of social media or a 24 hour news cycle.

I hope there is something going on behind the scenes that are delaying it.

there are reports that Trump called off an attack at the last minute at the behest of Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia,

These are the countries we would’ve launched airstrikes from and would’ve needed their approval to use their bases. With no aircraft carrier in the region it really limits options to long range bombers from the states and cruise missiles from whatever naval assets were in the region.
It’s possible he’s waiting on the aircraft carrier to get there.
They said all the wanted was to be able to get married. We gave them an inch and they should all nine inches up our asses with all the tranny nonsense, cake baking insanity and cross dressing for children’s story hour.

Now most people realize the gay marriage thing was a mistake.

The entire Greenland issue is unnecessary and unfortunate. Denmark has always been a good ally,, and we’ve had full access to Greenland for national security purposes.

It seems like everyone on the planet that the defense and security of Greenland lies solely with the United States. In fact, even if Denmark wanted to defend it they wouldn’t be able to deploy their soldiers there. They don’t have the ships or the planes. Why shouldn’t it be ours?

I believe they've landed a couple mars rovers and did the whole James Webb telescope thing in the last 15 year. Exceedeing pretty much the entire history of the shuttle, except in the tragedy category.

OSIRIS-REX was a pretty cool mission too.
What crimes are they going to prosecute republicans for?

And if they want to expand SCOTUS why wait? They could vote to do that right now.

I’m glad he’s focusing on the really important issues that affect every day Americans.

I doubt this took too much of his time.
The vast vast majority of people have zero awareness of their surroundings or other people around them. It’s especially bad amongst women but more and more “men” are becoming this way too.
