Terrible, terrible decision. NFL loves their retreads.

Steelers decided having only 3 coaches in 50 years and they are all successful was the wrong way to go

The 3 previous Steelers coaches averaged between 15 & 20 years coaching with the team. McCarthy might not actually live another 15 to 20 years.

Steelers with drunk Art Rooney running it is a shite show. Tomlin was stale. Instead of doing what his dad did by hiring young up and coming coordinators all in their 30s, Rooney hires a fricking retread head coach that not a soul wanted. He’s 63 and stale. What a fricking terrible hire.

I wish the Rooneys would just sell the damned team. This is the most pissed I've been since they signed Michael Vick.

As a regular listener of the Ticket, I got to hear the Dallas talking heads complain about this guy nonstop and now we hire him when we had the opportunity to hire some innovative young coaches. Just a fricking joke. They've pissed off the fanbase with this.

Because he’s a Pittsburgh native. fricking maddening. Nobody but Mark Kaboly wanted him. NOBODY! Rooney has pissed off both the Tomlin fans and Tomlin haters.

My question is, what is the rush to hire him and pass on doing any of the other interviews? It's not like McCarthy was a candidate anywhere else. Literally no one wanted the guy.

Awful hire. The Steelers used to be a model organization. Seems that fell apart once Dan Rooney quit running things and then passed away.

With the Failclowns, Steelers, and Titans hiring uninspiring retreads, the Bills just might get away with their late entry into the coaching carousel.

I can almost guarantee that Malik Willis will be the QB for the Steelers next year. It’s just too perfect of a fit for them

Does this mean A-Rod sticks around?

Such a terrible, uninspiring choice

Must’ve listened to Aaron Rodgers

I mean MM is a solid caretaker type. If TEN hired MM, I would have said it's a good idea just to right the ship of the team/culture after a few years, and then hire "the guy"

WTF is PIT doing? It makes no sense from their POV, especially with their history and coach philosophy
