People who get married and choose not to have kids

I really dont get the point in this, isnt the whole point of marriage to start a family? . Like you pretty much become roommates where someone, usually the man, still gets assfricked in the inevitable divorce.

Children are a blessing, but some might say those folks are living the life.
They have a life companion but aren't burdened with fhe trials and responsibilities of parenthood.
They can travel and spend their money with less concern.
I'd say those folks are living the life.

Not for everyone. Different strokes for different folks.
Some people just don't want kids.

I don't get it either. Reproduction and child-rearing is really the whole point of marriage. Unfortunately, feminism sold women on the lie that denying their natural instincts, climbing the career ladder, and making money is the key to their happiness.

sometimes it's people that actually do want to have children but have fertility difficulties and prefer not to talk about that

Not all people are fit to be parents.

They will be missing out on the best part of parenthood, which is grandchildren.

Im kinda with you... I remember just being kinda bored and having an empty feeling. Now that I have kids, yes, it's hard. But it's so much more rewarding.

Sorry about your damn luck, baw. How much did she walk away with?

Until they are old and lonely
I get that it would be fun in your 20-50 year ages but once your friends die off and there is no one to visit you I can’t see that being a fulfilling life plan

I can’t imagine a life without kids. The prospect of holidays and such in an empty house with each day resembling the next is not my cup of tea. But to each his own.

That's what my aunt and uncle did.
They're 83 now... and pretty much alone but for each other. I don't even think they like each other.
They have gotten more miserable the older they've gotten... they do all kinds of stuff, but don't seem to enjoy it. They go on Alaska cruises and take pictures of sleeping strangers... the photos they used to share with us was always pictures of plants or their newest Elvis knickknack.
I never want to be them.

This is true. Like 10-20% of couples have fertility issues
Many wars have been started over this over the course of human history. And Brits are protestants because of this.

quote:I have to disagree with you here. Marriage is a gift and an exercise in denying one's self to put the needs of one's spouse before their own.
Reproduction and child-rearing is really the whole point of marriage.
Children are also a gift which flow from marriage and the love that is found in marriage.
But to say reproduction is the whole point of marriage, in my opinion, cheapens the bond that is forged through marriage and reduces children to mere widgets produced from the marriage machine.

What about people who can’t have children?
Should they never get married?
