Gotta make some moves. No chance to upgrade through the draft and this season is shot.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a more hopeless franchise in sports than this team over the past 10 years.

I'd hire Thibs in a heartbeat but I seriously doubt he would be remotely interested in working for this franchise

I agree, gotta give him the reins. Whatever it takes.

We should have keep Lagdon and got rid of Griffin

I wish I could be as bad at my job as the Pelicans front office and coaching staff and still get paid millions

Yep, I remember begging for Udoka and we let him go to the Rockets.

Griff was a joke, Dumars is worse

You think Dumars:

(1) Could attract Thibs
(2) Willingly give up control when he probably thinks he’s a genius for the moves he made to get Fears and Queen!

With the Pels injury luck and the way Thibs coaches they wouldn't have 5 healthy players for longer than 2 weeks at a time

Does Thibs even want to or like developing young players? Seems like he's going to want a veteran led roster.

I can't imagine that any coach would want to be here under Dumars.

As bad as Griff was, Dumars is MUCH worse.

It would have to fit in Gayle’s budget. She even said it herself

quote:

That’s why I hired him. I trust Joe... I’ve left that in his hands.” This has effectively granted him almost total authority over the franchise, provided he stay within financial limits

For sure you are short term deficit. Dumars inherited this mess. There is no way anyone could have objectively thought this was going to be a winning season. Guess Professor Griff gets let off the hook. Dumars has Zion pinned on him and what he does with him will start the real clock. Logically, Dumars has to build back some value for Zion to get any type of sensible return.

You're kidding right? You are not paying attention if you do not think Dumars thought he had a shot at a winning season. He traded a valuable expiring contract for Poole and gave up an unprotected pick and a very lightly protected pick for a mid-1st round player. He certainly thought he could win as his moves exhibit. He also chose to keep Zion and Willie.

Dumars did, which is the problem.

He inherited a shite roster and somehow handcuffed it even more because he thought this team was built to win right now.

What else was he going to say? CJ was already gone before Griff was let go. Queen and Fears are his big bet, Three maybe four of Zion, Herb, DJM, Poole, TM3, and Jose will be gone before next years draft. That will get the Pels back in the first round, maybe multiple picks.
