It would insure they win more elections.
So why not support it?

probably because they know they wouldn’t win in a fair election against other Republicans. They know they were installed.
well, that, and the fact that they have sold out and are spineless

Grassley is saying his opposition is based on a states’ rights thing. He doesn’t want federal intervention on voting forced on the states.
Not saying I believe him, but that’s his stated reasoning.

Why would anyone be against voter ID except wanting corruption in voting?

I can only think of one Republican like this - Massie. But, we all know he wants the Democrats to cheat/win.

They have almost every seat planned out and have a selected minion.
Look how Turtle doled out election funds.
fricking establishment RINOS!

Because they are controlled opposition.

As long as it isn't a "new ID" and just whatever state ID you already have I can't see the reason to be against it

RINOs benefit from the fraud just like the D Party Waterhead Babies

Support it at the state or federal level seems to be the divide

So "RINO" now means "upholds conservative values" (states rights)
MAGA redefining words is so weird. Leave that with the leftists.

I'd be okay with that line of reasoning but for the fact there already IS federal intervention on voting forced on the states.

Because, in the eyes of establishment GOP politicians, a Democrat in office is better than an America First Republican. Their grift stays alive and kicking under Democrat control ; it is threatened indefinitely if we peasants should take control - God forbid. The establishment Republicans do not like us. The establishment Republicans deplore the likes of DJT. The establishment Republicans and their families did not and do not vote for DJT or America First Republican candidates.. This can’t be stressed enough and needs to be understood.

I can mostly understand this logic, if a state wants to be crazy then they can individually choose to be crazy.
But, in that context, I still don't think a "rogue" state should expect the rest of the nation to take it as seriously, and think it's hard to justify saying "yeah this huge outlier process that does things completely differently is still totally OK" in a FEDERAL level election.
We are the "United" States after all, and imo should be united in a federal election process

Given what has surfaced in recent elections how could anyone on the right look at this as a states rights issue. It’s more of a “states failed to do” rights issue.
The concept of needing an id in order to vote isn’t complicated and shouldn’t be debated. I know it is debated, but those debating against it are open to more questioning and also tend to align with those that like our borders open.

Why?
Everyone that those people vote for represent the state or the voters of that state. If the state is crazy, why would you think they wouldn't send crazy to our federal offices?
This is the very heart of states' rights and directly representing voters of that state.

Because it's literally always been a states rights issue with many court cases supporting this, unless there is a specific amendment (like the 13th-15th) authorizing specific federal authority in the area.
