December 2023: “I win. Google me.”
January 2026: Lifting the national championship trophy in year 2 with fricking Indiana.

The man wasn’t lying.

The better quote was at the IU basketball game where he said "Purdue sucks but so do Michigan and Ohio State"

Dude just drug his nuts all over the B1G this year.

It’s good but it’s not the best quote to ever come out of Indiana.

Why does he not get the question?

The guy asks how do you mesh your vision for new recruits with guys who have been in this shite program for years?

Why be a count about a pretty basic question for a new coach? Does he really not understand the question?

Mfer sounds like SFP up there. “Your question was not good enough for me.”

I don't care what happens for the rest of Cignetti's career, he achieved legend status with the quote and then following it up with a master class in winning.

I don’t remember a combination of absolute certainty of success, with a team so historically maligned, followed up so immediately by results… ever.

Dude went 27-2 in his first two years at Indiana. It took them six seasons to win 27 games before that.

He has 2% of their all-time wins in 2 seasons, and they’ve been around a lot longer than 100 seasons, lol. He pulled their all-time winning % up almost 2% in 2 years.

It’s up there with “we comin and we ain’t backin down”

I know that has become a meme somewhat but when you think about it he said that after the 2017 game.

He hadn’t even gotten the full time gig yet and had just lost by 14.

Yet he said it with an intensity and certainty that only coach O has.

2 years later he is coaching one of if not the best team of all time.

It’s #1 by a mile. He talked shite and backed it up in two seasons at Indiana. If he did that at OSU or Georgia, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but he knew what he could do and he did it. #1.
