The COVID scam shifted the World economy. It wasn't only RC.

We really dint realize how good life was. My daughter ordered a 3 piece chicken tender meal from Arby’s and it was $13.76.

7 bucks was about average for a fast food combo back then. Good times I shake my head every time I pay fast food prices these days

Feels like they've all doubled or close to it.
I hadn't been to Taco Bell in easily 10 years, my kid asked for it one night, and we could have sat down at a Mexican restaurant with an extra person for about the same price, and left fuller.
The most offensive part of Canes is the price going up while the chicken gets smaller. Going to be frying Cornish game hen fingers before long.

I had some the other day. It's objectively terrible

When it very first opened in Central ~25 years ago, my mom refused to take us because of the prices.

lol, people say this ignorantly. I don’t eat out Mexican often, but we had it in Tampa the other day some hole in the wall next to Busch Gardens and it was $100 for a family of 5, one grande beer and one house margarita. My wife and daughter shared a fajita plate. One kids meal.
Mexican places aren’t $9.99 specials and $4.99 kids meals anymore.

There’s plenty to be said about fast food prices, but you are doing Taco Bell wrong if this is your experience there.

Yeah, fast food is sky high no doubt, but there's also some exaggeration with some people. Someone told me the other day a regular taco at Taco Bell is $4. It's $1.89.

Damn that location was $5 for 5 Tenders and assload of fries and bread and drink.
Miss that

My order is always a chicken Chalupa. It’s gone from $2.99 to $3.79 to $4.99 to $5.99. The Good Mexican sit down will do an ala cart Quesadilla or burrito for $6.25.

Couldn't tell you the last time I had Canes or Taco Bell. Popeye's is a different story.

Taco Bell was ~$35 for a two chalupa combo, a cheesy gordita crunch, and a Mexican pizza combo. At least at the Mexican restaurant you get chips/salsa, with a side of rice and beans are much more filling than Taco Bell. It could have been because you were right outside Busch Gardens, but it all depends what you order. When we order fajitas, carne asada, a couple kids meals, plus have a few drinks its way closer to $100

Still can get a 10pc family meal for $25. That feeds 4 people.

Funny how COVID ended years ago and supply chain was restored but except for gasoline most prices have not gone down. Food and construction materials are at gouging rates these days. Somebody is making a killing and it isn’t the producers.

I lived behind that first Canes on Highland when it opened. You got 5 pretty big tenders in a box for about $5.50. It's a good thing I hit the Rec a lot because I ate it like twice per week back then
