would football become harder to be a fan if everyone on the field looked like mushrooms with legs?
These guys also look like characters from the movie Spaceballs...
Thoughts?

While I agree they look silly, I find them far less egregious than sliding gloves and the various body armor worn by baseball players.

I giggle when I see them but respect the dudes that wear them.
They sure do stick out.

They look like peewee leaguers with those things on. “Hey, it’s Lakeshore vs. Cleary on TV.”

Who is the biggest star in the league who wears the cuck cap?
Posted on 1/18/26 at 3:24 pm to Chicken
It looks so stupid and I think anyone who wears one should feel embarrassed.

I always think of Suleiman the Magnificent

It reminds me of Goldeneye on the N64 with big head mode enabled

I just want to see lil Kyler wear one in a game

God forbid players want to avoid CTE
Posted on 1/18/26 at 3:54 pm to Chicken
Shouldn't be allowed to wear them in games.

You mean the "disease" that the Nigerian doctor lied and embellished about?

Maybe you suffer from CTE too

TigerDroppings is absolutely one of the main places where that "cuck cap" insult gained massive traction.
If you spend any time on the SEC Rant or the TigerDroppings boards, you'll see users calling them "cuck caps" constantly.
The logic behind the nickname on those boards usually boils down to:
Aesthetics: They think the caps look silly and "soft."
"Old School" Grit: A lot of the posters there feel that adding extra padding to helmets is emasculating the game or making it "soft," hence the use of "cuck" as a derogatory label for anything they perceive as weak or overly cautious.
Anti-Authority Sentiment: There’s often a heckin' lot of pushback against new safety mandates from the NFL or NCAA on those forums, so the nickname stuck as a way to mock the "safety-first" culture.
So, while the term "cuck" has been a staple of internet slang for ages, TigerDroppings is definitely a primary "breeding ground" for applying it specifically to Guardian Caps. It's basically the go-to term on there whenever a player hits a dong while wearing one.

The cuck cap has about as much utility as a COVID mask.

You should have to sit out a quarter if you choose to wear that garbage.

I can’t imagine letting something that doesn’t affect the game bug me so much.
