Who is most to blame for us falling off the table 2022-2024? Loomis, Brees, or Skylene

On a positive note, it appears the Saints are marching in the right direction.

When we look back at the period of 2022-2024 in Saints History, who will take the most blame for our downfall?

Loomis = Renting a shitty Carr

Brees = Not retiring sooner + leaving us in Cap Hell

Skylene = Controlling Coach P with her special powers and making him want to move out of New Orleans.

Skylene’s white trash Appalachian sensibility didn’t mesh with New Orleans…

Brees lost 8 total games his final three seasons

We’ve lost at least 8 games each of the past five seasons

Numerous bad trades and draft decisions. Along with hiring Dennis Allen. And he still thought he was the next Bill Belicheck and refused to fire him. Carr was a stupid signing that our team didn’t need, but he’s still an ok player. He had a winning record with us with one of the worse head coaches in history….

Loomis and Payton after the 2021 season when Jameis got hurt. That should’ve sounded the alarm for a full reset instead of trying to bandaid the QB position and sign old veterans. Lazy hire of Dennis Allen as well.

Time. The inevitable march of time.

It was ALWAYS the deal that we were all in as long as Brees was still playing. Thus, we paid for the present with the future. And it was a good strategy. Doesn’t mean it always results in a superbowl win.

Carr was a bad choice, but it was Allen’s all in to succeed as a head coach.

Sometimes you bet based on your available options and you lose. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s anyone’s fault.

Loomis is a great GM. He made the Saints a respectable franchise.

Brees is the best thing that ever happened to the New Orleans Saints.

Skylene didn’t want to grow old in New Orleans. That’s fair. If I were wealthy, I’d pick Denver over New Orleans too.

We appear to trending in a positive direction. Why must this crap be constantly brought up. For the millionth time. We had a franchise QB and stretched every financial avenue we could to try to win another championship. Loomis and any other GM / Owner would do the same. There’s no one to blame. Get over it.

Minneapolis miracle & Nola no call probably on Loomis too huh.
Geez

Pushing all in on a bad coach is what did us in.

The Carr signing was the thought we had a good defense, solid offense, and a qb away from contending.

The instability of Andy Dalton, Jameis Winston, taysom Hill, etc yet we were on the cusp of playoff contention led us down a path that delayed where we are for 3 years.

Bress obviously not to blame.., and it’s silly to suggest that

Loomis is who the blame lies with

Tom could have chosen a wife who had a son, nephew, brother or hell a neice or sister who was a football fan… team would have been in better hands with Rita

Payton checked out. He was never winning anything again here.

Brees was the greatest Saint we've ever had. Leave that man alone.

Y'all already know about Loomis and Allen. Carr was a serviceable QB1 that didn't at all fit in here. Allen was a great DC but dogshit HC.

Don't underestimate the impact Tom Benson's decline and death had on the team.

The owner. Then the GM. As Harry said the buck stops there.

Why is Payton not a choice? Sure it’s loomis’ fault, but I still blame Payton for riding Drew into the ground and evacuating when he was no longer there, only to move on to another team.

He got everything he asked for in New Orleans and moved on like a parasite when the resources ran dry.

loomis listening to the DA HC recommendation from CSP was ridiculous.

DC then being signed is also on Loomis.

Contract management resulting in not being able to invest in FA signing is on Loomis

So

Loomis

“I were wealthy, I’d pick Denver over New Orleans too.”

This is just a matter of taste, but I would prefer NOLA over Denver especially if I were wealthy, and I like Denver and especially its proximity to the mountains. Most of New Orleans’ problems cease impacting you if you’re wealthy.

The richest individual in Louisiana almost got carjacked.

The fricking DA got carjacked.

Where else does that shite happen?

It was always going to be falling off the table once Brees was gone. Payton was looking to leave back in 2016. Loomis is at fault for doing a lazy promotion of Dennis Allen instead of finding a proper coach and doing a rebuild. Instead he allowed Allen to make a bunch of moves to save his job, like signing Carr. What's crazy is Allen was fixing to make fatal move off the bat when he was trying to acquire Watson. Luckily the Browns saved him from his stupidity. Then followed that with the Carr signing. Only way Saints were moving forward was if they found a QB. Looks like they finally did and things are trending upward.

I just googled rich people getting mugged or carjacked and got quite a list with Paris, LA, and DC on there. NOLA is a relatively high crime city, but wealth insulates you from most of it (and the DA almost certainly is not wealthy).

You just need to look beyond the results.
