This is what Iranian leadership could look like in a best case scenario.

The Iranians drove out the Shah... Khomeini immediately had his supporters mobilize and take over in the vacuum, like the next day, before people had stopped celebrating. I don't think the Iranians want the Shah's family back in power... they expelled him twice, were pissed when he was reinstalled by BP and the CIA the first time in the 50s. They will want to elect a leader.

The Shah is glorified by the populace big time there now
Does that mean they want Reza to become king? I’m not sure, but I do believe he would be the favorite to win an election

They are shouting the Shah's name in protests across the country. Who knew?

These people are not Iranians anymore. After 45 years of living in the West, they are Americans of Iranian heritage.

Dad's genes won. That's a shame.

Iran could be a world leading tourist destination if they ever got their shite together. They actually have great snow skiing.

I'm married into an Iranian family and the way I take things is once the regime falls, they want Pahlavi to return and be the transitional leader until a new government forms and elections are held.

You think installing a Deep State-backed, globalist family is the "best case" scenario for Iran?

How much power did the Shah have back in the day? I don’t see how them returning under a constitutional monarchy like Britain would be that big of a deal. Keep them as a symbolic head of state figurehead with the political power with a Prime Minister.

What really was the last offense by the Shah was when he had a huge elaborate celebration to remember the 2500 year founding of the Persian empire and invited only western foreign dignitaries. I believe not one of the common people were present.
He spent hundreds of millions on the affair.
The Khomeini was in exile at the time and the clerics in Iran used the public’s disgust of celebrating a pre-islamic era to help fuel his downfall over the coming years. It was a tipping point.
