they scanned it “delivered” but didn’t deliver the package and delivered it next day or at the end of their route

Who hasn’t had this happen?

Who is the shipping company? I know most (Amazon, UPS) take a picture of it delivered and it’s upload it to tracking. Never heard of your situation.

I had one recently where it said delivered with a picture of it on my porch, then it was gone when I went to grab it. Then it was there a week later

Yes. You’ll likely have it by Monday.

Yes….this is because we get too much information nowadays. I think delivery companies would be better off to discontinue tracking of individual packages if the can’t do it dependably. I would rather them just give an estimated delivery date and leave it at that.

FedEx did this all the time to me until about the last year or so. Didn't matter if it was something I was waiting on for work in a metro area or for myself in a rural area, they did this for about 5 years.

In November I had a package delivered with the picture of it delivered, it just wasn't in front of my house it was down the road, but I don't think I ever had one show delivered that wasn't.

All of the time. I feel like it happens when the carrier knows they won’t hit the delivery window, and then they just deliver it later. Pisses me off. I’d rather them just tell me it’s going to be late so I don’t have to wonder if someone jacked a package.

Guess I've been fortunate and have gotten everything I've ordered either on, or before the said delivery date.
Hell, I've even ordered darts and dart supplies from England and have had that delivered most times in just over a weeks time.

They'll do that or say that signature was required and no one answered the door.
I know this because I once stayed home all day waiting for an expensive package and got the alert that they "attempted delivery" while I was sitting in my living room 20 feet from my front door. I called the shipping company and they fed me bullshite. I then called the company that shipped it to me, they called the shipping company and then called me back. Apparently they admitted that their drivers will routinely mark something as delivery attempted if they get to the end of their shift and still have packages in the truck. That way it doesn't frick with their internal metrics, not dissimilar to a fast food restaurant asking you to pull forward. They then deliver it at the start of the route the next day.
Sure enough, my package was delivered the next morning, no signature required.

USPS does this often. It is then delivered the next day. It is what it is!

yes. USPS has done this and then it came the next day.

Yes.
Our address is incorrectly entered in GPS so people are frequently sent off to wrong locations. And many delivery people are not all that sharp to start.
A few times, things were delivered to the wrong addresses. Their photos and GPS clearly showed the reality - once we insisted that they look into the deliveries because we did not get the orders.
We got replacements for most and someone dropped off the order for another, so no reorder was made.
But it does happen and there are resolutions available.

First time online shopping?

When I worked in shipping I once had the USPS scan 20 packages as delivered at the initial intake warehouse.
I had to contact everyone and confirm they got the packages a few days later.
