quote:

The bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president cross an unacceptable line. These acts represent a grave affront to Venezuela's sovereignty and set another extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community.

Attacking countries, in flagrant violation of international law, is the first step towards a world of violence, chaos, and instability, where the law of the strongest prevails over multilateralism.

The condemnation of the use of force is consistent with the position that Brazil has always adopted in recent situations in other countries and regions.

This action recalls the worst moments of interference in the politics of Latin America and the Caribbean and threatens the preservation of the region as a zone of peace.

The international community, through the United Nations, needs to respond vigorously to this episode. Brazil condemns these actions and remains available to promote dialogue and cooperation.

Sure let’s start going around the world invading lots of countries and kidnapping their leaders.

It’s fascinating to watch so many people flip, like a switch, from “let’s not experiment with regime change and engage in foreign military adventurism” to “frick yeah man ‘murica who we hittin’ next dude!?!?!”

It leads me to believe these people have no real core of geopolitical beliefs or just don’t know what they believe in.

I keep seeing this posted. What countries are going to form an alliance to fight back against and attack or invade the United States for blowing up the ‘fishing boats’ and capturing Maduro? Nobody. Nobody is going to do a god damn thing but whine and complain on social media. We’d obliterate any BRICS nation without risking a single soldier. We have the ability to destroy them all via technology and innovation.

Strange, why would anyone think what happened is not acceptable? Seems like the over due logical move to me. Actor A inflicting destruction on Actor B. Actor B fights back.... how is that unacceptable?

First of all, an alliance has already started forming. That's why we were in the Middle East for 20-plus years, and why we attacked Venezuela. Second of all, none of those countries needs to invade the United States. By forming an alliance and cutting off the dollar in dealing with oil would bring us to our knees without firing a single shot.

This is just my opinion, but we don't want to obliterate anybody. What we want is for their leadership to deal oil in dollars. It's the key to our financial system. That's why regime change is necessary.

Does Venezuela being in our hemisphere and indeed 3-4 hrs away (by air) from the US make it different in comparison to Iraq/Afghanistan?

Of course Lula would say that. He’s done the exact same things in Brazil to gain and keep power that Maduro did.

Does Taiwan being in China's sphere permit similar arguments from China?

I don't give a shite what China argues. This isn't a debate, Poindexter.
