Southern Pearl Oyster House, which opened in 2019, permanently closed its doors Friday, leaving a sign on the door that read, “We are closed. This location has permanently closed as of January 1, 2026. Thank you to our guests and community for your support over the years.”
Full Story
I never went, but the building I believe was built from the ground up by SPOH, and it looked nice. It appears that they shut down abruptly.

Went two or three times, thought the food was good not great but must've been the clientele of Batun Ruuge that did em in

Most restaurants shut down abruptly so that the entire staff doesn't quit.

Forgot about this place. It was in. Weird location, maybe would’ve done better further down Perkins Rd

Restaurant closures in BR seem to be far outweighing new restaurant openings in BR..

Weren't they part of the Half Shell Oyster House chain?

It’s alarming. Does anyone remember if there were ever this many closures as we’re seeing today?

I know people in the restaurant/ bar ownership world. It was a really rough year for many.

Ate there a few times and always enjoyed it

Yes, it’s Half Shell Oyster House. They changed the name here because of On The Half Shell in PVille.
We enjoy going in Biloxi. Only went once here. I guess just because we have more options and never really thought about it to be honest.

Perfect location for another Juicy Fiery Krab Queenz Saucy Seafood spot.

Was good food when me and family went... ended by culture and we never went back.

Went a few months ago and there was nobody there at dinner on a Thursday night. Food was solid. Wait staff was trying but subpar

The Advocate had 11 as closing in 2025 (the didn’t include The Patio Mexican for some reason)

Dragos closed because of a property deal and reopened at a new location. Roux 61 also closed because of a property deal.
None of these others are surprising, or will even be viewed as a loss except maybe Southfin.
By citrate they have these listed as opening

We've eaten there a several times over the years and other than their stuffed items (I didn't like the flavor, too much thyme or something), it was always good. I figured with Roux 61 closing nearby, they would get some of their customers.

This is a very solid chain. Have eaten at ones in Hattiesburg, Gulfport, Covington, and Laffy and it's always been very good.
Also surprised a Roux 61 closed. Ate at the one south of Natchez years ago and it too was very good,
Maybe Katy, Texas could swing a deal - the oyster house and Roux 61 for 500 Mexican restaurants, 250 food trucks, and some Asian eateries to be named later? Are we dealing?

I ate there several times when they opened. Never had a good meal.
Not sure if they were making stuff in house but it seemed like frozen/mass produced dishes. Service was not good on any visit and menu felt overpriced for product quality. Could’ve just been bad luck. Always hate to see a restaurant fail, but it was a miss for me.

I had the exact opposite experience. Ate there three or four times. Food was good. Service was good. As for price point, I cannot think of any restaurant for which a consumer can justify current prices. Rationalize? Sure, but not justify. I’d guess the clientele did them in. That and the fact that people’s expectations are getting to be almost impossible to satisfy. Many people seem to want a five star experience at a three star price. Or they go in with such lofty expectations that if it isn’t an orgasmic experience on every level, they complain. That’s not an indictment of customer or host. Just what I think is reality.

Never went. I don’t know anyone that has gone and talked about it. Beautiful building. Must have been very mediocre.

It was packed up into the day they closed. They got a really great deal to sell the property
