Going for it at your own 20 something yard line and not running time off of the clock on their last offensive possession. Just dumb coaching

Absolutely. That 4th down play was incredibly stupid.

Gotta run it down inside the 10 make the clock go down. Then kick to tie or special play to win it. Too many pass plays down there.

I thought any coach would know you can’t have an incompletion on that last third down.

Not running the ball on 3rd and goal when OM was out of TO’s. If you don’t score, kick the FG with 20 seconds left.

Incredibly stupid to give that offense and that kicker 50 seconds.

Wait - so Kirby should have settled for the FG to tie the game vs go for the win?

His clock management before that play was bad but 10/10 coaches would have thrown the ball on the 3rd down play.

I personally would’ve just run a bubble screen to Branch and tell him to stay inbounds

Yeah multiple bad decisions. Obviously going for it on 4th down is essentially why ole miss won giving them a 10pt lead. But even despite that Georgia still could've and probably should've won. Or at the very least go to overtime.

Once Ole Miss was out of timeouts you have to run the ball on 3rd and goal at the end. I know it seems conservative but youre guaranteeing overtime at minimum and you may surprise ole miss and score the touchdown anyway. But you have to make sure you dont leave them time to beat you.

And on top of that overtime would've favored UGA big time cause the Ole Miss defense was absolutely worn out.

He made two fatal decisions. Going for it on his own 30 to gift Ole Miss points, passing on third down inside the five to give Ole Miss time to get the winning field goal.

Those last few plays were malpractice.

Cover 0 on 3rd and 5 with press coverage is a head scratcher given the situation. OM with no timeouts. A 1st down isn’t the end of the world.

I will say this- if UGA’s RB doesn’t get injured, I think they would have won it in spite of everything. They probably go on down and score a TD and take more time off the clock in the process. Not having him at the end really limited them. Their backup looked terrible.

That last offensive play was dumb. I get wanting to score a TD but throwing the ball instead of running was not a wise choice. Run the ball and if don't get the TD, kick the FG with under 20 seconds to go. Go into OT and take chance there. Leaving 50+ seconds was a disaster.

Georgia style of play is old school on Offense and Defense. Technically speaking OM and the Lane schemes beat them with less talent. But this Chambliss is special.

Multiple coaching errors by Kirby. Could’ve left Ole Miss with way less time at the end as well.

Blood, sweat, time, and tears all season for your coach to brain fart at that crucial point?

He's arrogant. Thought the mud sharks would make a mistake but he thought wrong.
