He was our next top target if Lane Kiffin fell through. Just finished the year 8-5 with back to back losses to Arizona and Duke.

Would have been an absolute failure of a decision if we would have brought him in.

Yeah because he didn’t have major injury issues, and the Arizona State support of their program is definitely on par with what LSU offers. Get out of here with that man. You don’t know how he would perform at LSU.

Arizona State didn’t have 16 starters yesterday against Duke.

Hate to break it to you, but the admin backup plan was that loser in Missouri. Dilly was mostly a fan fic

That Duke game was wild. Had it sealed up and RB fumbles. Anyways, this is a dumb take.

So is Jay Johnson. He has worked out well. That said, I’m happy we got Kiffin.

I don't think Dilly would have left ASU this season. LSU could have made it a hard decision though. He'll leave eventually, when he finds out he can't compete year in and year out, but that doesn't mean he won't win alot there, just that every season won't be the same. There are going to be down years, amd this is one of them. Doesn't mean he can't coach or build a program.

He is a decent coach, but Arizona State is going to be a tough place to win long term. Their NIL is low when your head coach is begging for money from local businesses. He will likely be fired in a few years like any other coach. If you aren’t winning the administration doesn’t give a shite if it’s your Alma mater.

Saban was in his 50’s, coached under Belichick, head coach experience at multiple schools.

You trying to compare that to a 35 year old whose career record is 22-17.

LSU is also a way better job now than it was in 1999

I will never be able to take Dillingham seriously after his little crybaby meltdown on the refs last season.

19-8 over the past 2 seasons is better than:

Some guy:15-8 during his 2 seasons as head coach before coming to LSU
Another guy: 16-9 during his 2 seasons as head coach before coming to LSU
Another dumb SOB: 9-11 during his 2 seasons as head coach before coming to LSU

All 3 won national championships at LSU

If Lane Kiffin left a playoff team to come here, Kenny fricking Dillingham would’ve teleported to LSU if offered the job
