I’d like to see that go into the negatives. As in, kicking out more than come in.

Won’t matter if he doesn’t start deporting more. We haven’t even reset to where we were in 2019.

No doubt about this.

Always need to remember the lie about needing more legislation.

I'd venture to say we've deported more than imported since 47 took over.

Agree. I would like to see naturalizations go down too. That is not a slight against people who have/following the rules. I can hardly imagine the backlog though, considering the efficiency of our wonderful agencies.

You might want to look at the graph again buddy. You can't have a negative amount of encounters

True, and his point that more should be leaving than are coming in has come to pass. The net flow is out of the country.

Gotta hand it to those illegal immigrants. Despite the "Build the wall!"rhetoric, they still came in in droves.

I didn’t read the small print encounters. I thought it was saying ‘net’ illegals crossing.

deporting at all won't matter if the border isn't sealed. Many of the current deportees are multiple entry law breakers (yes, crossing illegally is against the law).

I'll note he did it in less than 2 months without Langford's cop-out-cum-Dem immigration reform (which he didn't even vote for) and despite the Biden administration's claims that new legislation was needed (right after R's took majority) and in the face of hostile courts including de facto asylum grants by the thousands.

This is great. Now let’s get the mass deportations started!

Even the MSM admits this (sort of buried in their mish-mash of data and very weird collage graphic at the open):

LINK <<<< nbcnews

Looks like ~ 10K 'encounters' / month recently, and ~ 15K deportations. Not sure if that includes self-deportations (I guess no record of that?).

"I've done all I can do. Just give me the power. I've asked from the very day I got into office. Give me the Border Patrol. Give me the people, the judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right. If you're serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it. It'll also give me as president, the emergency authority to shut down the border until it could get back under control. If that bill were the law today, I'd shut down the border right now and fix it quickly".

Sealing the border should have been everyone's #1 priority, maybe at worst #2 if curbing inflation was your #1.

We have to know who is in our country, we have too many enemies to not.

My concern is that nothing has been codified, and if/when the Dems take control again there is nothing that stops them from reopening the border.

those two are related.

We are just now finding out just how connected they are.

And now that the relationship between illegals and corruption is being publicly exposed (it has been known in certain buildings for quite a while) the drag on the economy, spending, and thus inflation connection is even more so deeper and drastic.

And why wouldn’t they? Free drivers license, free housing, free medical, free education. All on the backs of tax-paying working Americans. Our government has really sold us out.
