I’ve always liked how Payton and Loomis would break down what the roster needed based on these categories. Cannot fill them all in an offseason. Below are how I see the roster based on these categories:

Musts
Guards
Versatile Tight End (primary blocking but can catch some)
Run stuffing DT

Needs
Receiver who can be a 1 or 2 option
Secondary
Pass rusher
Punter

Wants
Explosive RB

Most important need is a RG so we can finally get rid of Cesar Ruiz.

This one is probably the most spot on one. Not sure if an Edge is a must though but fair enough.

I think we're okay at RB for the time being. IF we have a good opportunity to upgrade the position, don't skip it, but there are bigger areas of need..... for now. The goal next season is the playoffs. Our RB situation isn't going to be the reason we do or don't make the post-season most likely.

Yeah this is a good breakdown.

Im almost tempted to move CB up, but idk if id move any of the others from the top down.

You for sure draft a rb this year.

They need everything except OT & QB and that’s not exaggerating

Ward had most average time to throw today for any QB atleast as far back as 2016. I’m bringing in another edge rusher and looking at my scheme.

To be more specific, an Edge, opposite Young that fits the scheme and has the athletic ability to contain outside runs and chase down QB’s on rollouts. Fill that position along with NT with difference makers and I’m confident Staley can work things out with some 3rd tier FA’s and mid-late round picks to fill out the defensive depth chart.

The defense could be anchored overnight with any combo of the right DT/DE and no. 1 corner

Offense needs a lot of work.

I wouldn't say "for sure." You can definitely get a UDFA. You get one or two, for sure, but you don't hsve to prioritize in FA or reach in the draft.
