They were being properly funded until politicians decided to buy votes by giving away free shite.

maybe they can just print california dollars! as crazy as this sounds, but the ability to print money fixes a lot of california's problems. they have an economy the size of japan's assuming they accept their proportional amount of US debt,as a separate country their debt to GDP ratio would be half that of japan's.
this is how america dies and i don't mean that as a bad thing, when cali goes she takes the entire western seaboard with her. if they leave texas aint sticking around, and when texas goes she's taking the south with her.

Same liberal shite, different liberal day.
I mean we've seen this before. We know how is going to play out. They have to start running the coffers like old school Republicans.
Because the new Republicans are almost at bad as democrats.

Whatever.... all those Marxist run states and cities have to be isolated and left to themselves. Not that Louisiana is a well run state, but my federal tax dollars should not go towards others that are immoral, un-American, Marxist, and stand for everything opposite of what I believe.
I understand fully that life ain't fair, but that's outside the bounds. Not California, not Chicago, not NY, not Minnesota, none of em.
frick em and feed em fish heads!
Not my problem.

Beaux duke: you must be a Marxist bot.
If not, I rest assured that eventually, one day, you will reap what you've sown.
No doubt, without question.
I hope that I can be around to witness it.

The state probably has half a trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. They're never going to pay those benefits.

Let’s see what they do with illegals and their free shite when it comes to record money shortages to pay pensions.

California sold their soul to the Public Employees Unions offering generous salaries and pensions in return for their votes. Same with Illinois. No way
Newsom will be on the ‘28 ticket. The other Dem nominees will gang-up on him.

I know the answer to that one.
They'll expect the Federal Government to bail them out like NYC.

Impossible. Dems will siphon from the fed gov to keep the gravy train going.

California has a lot of unfunded state pension but it a very populated state, their numbers are just slightly worse than Texas & New York. California has the 10th most debt per capita, New Jersey owes 5x more per person. But you were dead on about blue states, look at the 9 states worse.
1st column is per capita 2nd column is total debt

4 Delaware $8.58K $8.5B
5 Vermont $8.17K $5.25B
6 Hawaii $8.07K $11.74B
7 Massachusetts $7.12K $50.02B

The Midwest Teamsters Pension fund has received over $40 billion in US taxpayer bailouts, don't be too surprised if CA state pensions are fully funded once the Democratic Socialists get control of Congress.
