What is going on with this LSU lake project

It’s been going on forever. They completely closed out May Street with no way to run around the big lake without running extra 2/3 miles around Perkins underpass.
If you are going to close a street, please work on it. They just abandoned it. If you are going to abandon, atleast create a pathway for joggers. Sorry I’m just mad.
I remember they spent millions before this project on the park on May street. They just tore the whole thing as part of beautification.
Is there an end in sight for this project?

Envision a dude standing on the edge of the lake and throwing your tax dollars into the water.

It is scheduled to be finished before the start of next football season. June or July

A certain Lilliputian will be along soon to call you fat for not wanting to run the extra 3 miles.

I can’t believe it’s still going on. They were breaking ground on it when I lived in BR and I haven’t lived in BR in over 8 years.

There's a website for this project that shows the progress and schedule. Might find an update here

Well, if one were to read the publicly-available contract instead of saying bullshite, one would see it's a fixed bid contract with the following timeline:
There are also liquidated damages of $1500/day.

The bird sanctuary looks like an island used to run tests on monkeys. Seriously, I think this whole thing is a disaster.

I’m more pissed they still have the traffic light there. For what? The 5 people that live on that side street?

69 million, looks like ya'll getting the end with the big hairy arse in your face.

They had to dredge 25 acre-feet of literal shite out of an urban lake. That's expensive. The monetary impact of not dredging the lakes would have far outweighed the amount it is taking to dredge the lakes.

And they probably have to stop work each time they find a body.
