NEW: Video game developer Vince Zampella is deceased after crashing a Ferrari on Southern California's Angeles Crest Highway.
Zampella was the video game developer behind "Call of Duty."
According to the California Highway Patrol, Zampella was driving southbound when he veered off the road after exiting a tunnel, striking a concrete barrier.
Zampella, who was trapped in the car, passed away at the scene, and the passenger, who was ejected, passed away at a hospital.

Why were those guys standing there waiting for him to come out of the tunnel?

Him died? Really? Him did? That sucks for him family. But them would have wanted him to go out doing something him loved. And him loved driving fast.

Did the passenger's seat belt fail or just fail to be worn?

Needed a 5 point and a HANS to have a shot at surviving...
Concrete is unforgiving, and street cars aren't racecars.

Angeles Crest is where all the supercars in L.A. go if they want to drive curvy roads. Big car spotting area on the weekends, like the Tail of the Dragon for Los Angeles. Search "Angeles crest tunnels" on Google maps and you can see exactly where this happened. There is a pull off area right outside the tunnel where people watch and listen to the cars coming out of the tunnel.

The entire seat structure was outside of the car with him still buckled.

Video did not load for me. Did he possibly have a blow out? Unusual that kind of car would do that unless serious driver error or major malfunction.
