I think 95% of society does. I don't, because I like to live life on the The Edge.
Plus, these phones are pretty much shatter proof and very, very durably constructed these days...

I use an OtterBox because I'm a butter fingers. I've dropped it a number of times and the rubber bumpers take the brunt of the fall instead of the screen.

If I drop my phone it's going to be on ceramic tile and hit just perfectly. I'd go through 3 per year with no case

I used a big clunky "bullet proof" protective case for about 4 years and it was effective but it became just too much so I bought a little slim $8 case that has now served me well for the past few months.

I'm utterly amazed people buy $50 phone cases in phone stores. I order a $15 Spigen that's low profile before I even order the phone.

I have an Otter Defender.
Dropped it while sitting in my seat at the Chuck in Omaha the day we won the CWS. It didn't fall far.
Otter didn't do its job. I have a cracked screen.

I think you misunderstand bulletproof. I have dropped a Nextel Motorola i60 and an i90 from one concourse to another in the Georgia Dome, and the Superdome. Both still worked and the tiny screens were fine (no case.) That's bulletproof.

I don't, but then again, I have a flip-phone, so I don't give a damn if it gets damaged since I can replace it for $30 or so.
My wife has a smart phone and has no case for it as does her 2 offspring---40 yr. old son and 35 yr. old daughter. Guess they're "edgy".
