These first round games tend to suck. If they really want G5 involved they should have a separate G5 playoff and let them play the winner of the P5 playoff. Just my opinion.

been sayin 8 team max,.

the money hungry greedy dipshits have ruined it with this G5 garbage. This is not the 12 best teams.

id much rather watched vandy with someone else from a P4 than this shite we saw from tulane and now JM.

You think they are putting in G5 teams because it will bring in more money?

We'd be seeing fifth place teams who lost 3 or 4 games. Wouldn't be much better. Probably even more boring.

And got beat by the same team by 30+ twice this season. ACC sucks and I can imagine a handful of teams who would’ve put up a better fight

I'm just trying to point out the stupidity of the ACC. If they had put miami in the CG then BYU or ND would be here instead of JMU

If they legitimately put the best 8 teams in I’d be for it. There are years where four or five of the best teams would be SEC and they’d never be okay being that heavy.

8 was the right answer. P4 (5 at the time) conference champions (CCG’s matter) plus 4 at large bids. Caveat for the conference champions that they must be in the top 15 or else their slot becomes an additional at large.

This was the way but the $$$ spoke. And it ain’t over yet.

In defense of 12 teams, we’ve seen two higher (top 8) seeds go down this weekend. G5s should not get an auto bid. It should be top 12, straight up. Come up with an objective formula. No more conference championship games.

Go to a formula of strength of schedule, w-l, etc. form a committee of Saban and other former coaches and the p4 commissioners to decide what is in formula and the weight of each category and then take the top 12 or 16 p4 teams and roll with it. Let group of 5 have an 8 or 12 team playoff the same way and use some of the oldest smaller bowls to host those playoff games

I don’t disagree with you on that. I think it would be interesting if they broke the p4 in 8 regional conferences and have the 8 conference champs go to the playoffs. Would make the championship games mean more and remove some discourse of who “deserves” to get in. Would never happen though

Personally I want 16 team power 4 playoffs and a 16 team group playoffs. No byes. These group teams getting blown out in the big boy playoffs is frickin pointless.

Separate G5 and P4 championships.

No more ladies vs men.

I can't disagree with this, these games are fricking embarrassing!

No need for more than 8, no one wants to see the SEC 5th place team playing rematches to teams they lost to.

CFB is eating itself alive here, can we go back to 4 teams again and make conference champs required?

8 teams, first round is Conference Championship games. The conference champions play semi and then finals.

This would take away all of the controversy but then again thats what they are selling us and we keep lapping it up.
