Having Tulane and JMU in the playoff this year is just inexcusable

Awful rules and turning out exactly as expected. No group of 5 team is ever going to win a playoff game against a P4 playoff team

It’s awful
No wonder espn farmed these games out to tnt.
TNT got ripped off

You can bet your bottom dollar if it was a B1G team on the bubble, JMU wasn’t getting in.

Tulane was down 14-0 to start the 2023 cotton bowl too. Lot of game left here. They should probably have points if not for that alligator arm drop, get some here and they’re right back in this.

The CFP format guarantees the top 5 highest ranked conference champs a spot in the field. JMU got in because the ACC sucked donkey balls and produced a 5 loss conference champ in Duke. The only way JMU would have been left out was if Virginia had won the ACC title game since they would have finished as the 4th highest ranked conference champ and Tulane would have gotten in as the 5th highest ranked champ

Ya like we haven't had blowouts in every opening round CFP game since it's original inception.....
If anything, A&M only scoring 3 points against a meh Miami only underscores the playoff should've stayed at 4, regardless of a Tulane or JMU.

Blame the ACC. Tulane and JMU are following rules that they weren’t allowed to vote on.
Don’t like it quit watching. For fricks sake stop bitching.

The two games being put in time slots when two NFL games are also on is not a coincidence

They had to put them in because the ACC went and got an 8-5 champion. This season would be the death of CCGs in a sane world

James Madison and Tulane weren't on the bubble. The ACC champ was an unranked outlier and the top 5 conference champs got auto bids. USC, Iowa, Michigan are all ranked above JMU. They would all be favored against JMU or Tulane on any field.

Whiney bitches
A 16 seed will never win an NCAA bball tourney game

Type it slower for the window lickers.
These rules were voted on by the Power teams and Notre Dame. The 5 conference winners was supposed to be a bone to the group teams.
Perhaps….the ACC should have come up with a better way to select teams for the conference championship.

I'm not watching the same handful of SEC and Big Ten teams over and over again. That bores me. Like, you watch all these interminable rounds of playoff football and at the end you can really, really say with great accuracy "those guys really are the best at tossing around a pigskin?" Who cares? What does that get us that's good?

I swear people on here want the same 6-8 teams every year…then bitch that Bama was a dynasty.

Having 5 SEC teams in is despicable

LOL. What gay logic. As if shoving G5 teams in there really cranks up the excitement.

The problem is in basketball you have other games going on you can turn to. In football when it’s the lone game that kinda sucks.
