It’s evident playoff expansion is not the way things should go, but money talks so we will see 16 next year

FIFY. They're going to go with the FCS model. 1-8 get byes, 9-24 play at higher seed stadium. Same for week 2 and 3. Semis and final at neutral. Conference championship games get scrapped.

First playoff expansion is dumb because blowouts, now playoff expansion is dumb when we get two first round games that are tied at halftime. Yall bitch about anything lol

I know it’s a hypothetical but I think Notre Dame beats both if they played again. CJ Carr is a Freshman and has only gotten better. They were rolling at the end of the year. A&M got fricked up their last game and Beck has been a check down merchant.

Should've done it when it mattered

By a team much better than any team Notre Dame played after their 0-2 start.

Being outraged or offended, or both, is the name of the game these days.

Exactly. I've enjoyed the defensive battle. The kicker having the worst game of his life is causing the the drama to build.

Who cares, Bama lost to Oklahoma in Tuscaloosa in November, then beat them in Norman last night.

ND lost to both these teams in close games before mid-September. ND would be clear favorites over both these teams today. Which if your criteria is “most deserving”, that’s one thing. If it’s “best“, that’s another (and there should be no autobids in that case).

Reminder. Oklahoma beat Bama one month ago. Did that matter yesterday? I’m not sure if you’re familiar with sports, but teams evolve - some improve during the year and play their best at the end, while others remain stagnant or get worse. The season is not a constant.

Scrap 75% of the bowl games that would be left, too. Give those sponsors the option to sponsor the playoff games.

Bowl games were always meaningless outside of the major, post-NYD games. Now they are just pointless games with stupid gimmicky things like mascots being dropped into toasters.

I'm confident that Notre Dame got better as the season went on, which is more than I could say for the Aggies and Canes.
