Shite title, but word limits.

Has any LSU coach, assistant or head, ever been FIRED and then proceeded to do better at their next job? I've been wracking my brain and really can't think of anyone.

I can't either, but there aren't that many examples out there at any university

WW is the one that comes to mind who could because he’s still pretty young for a coach.

Wade’s circumstances are a little different though because it’s not like he was fired for sucking at his job.

I don’t remember if Kevin Steele was fired here or not but I was pretty underwhelmed with him as our DC only for him to build a bunch of insanely good defenses at Auburn.

If we are strictly talking college football and not other sports, can we expand that to ALL D1 schools?

How many D1 head coaches have been fired then gone on to have better success at the D1 level? Plenty of examples of guys getting fired from the pros and coming back but I’m talking D1 to D1.

Take assistants and coordinators out of this discussion because there has to be 1000 examples of that happening

Matt Canada had more success in his career once he left LSU. Can't remember if he was technically fired or if it was a "mutual" parting.

Usually when you get fired from a job like LSU it’s for a pretty good reason. Not many fired coaches from big jobs fall up. You get another shot at a shitty job that won’t work no matter how hard you try.

Pat Henry? Was he "fired?"

Ed O. He got $17million guaranteed, divorced his wife, starting banging every MILF in SE Louisiana, and has been living it up.

Edit: Come on guys it's just a bad joke. I say dumb things on Friday.

No. LSU is a coaching graveyard for anyone not named Saban.

Eddie O was fired at Old Miss and USC before heading the greatest team ever....then he got fired.

I'm gonna say Lou Tepper, but it was at the D2 Level. Led 3 or 4 of his teams to the national playoff in D2. He was the worst LSU Coordinator I recall in my lifetime. Wasn't hard to outperform his 3 years here.

I do appreciate you confusing these morons into thinking you're an LSU fan.

I've been a Tiger fan a long, long time. Tiger Stadium looked and sounded a lot different when I first started going there than it does now.

Most fired coaches don’t really workout elsewhere either.

I’m just glad LSU finally hired a true x and o coach again.

Steele came and went on his own. He only had a few years left to be retired from the Alabama system. It wasn’t worth it for him to be here and he jetted to finish off in that retirement system.
